(Jasper's POV)The sound of an engine running springs me awake. I look out my opened window to see Cooper and Carlos talking, along with other people loading up a vehicle with supplies.
I quickly get up and throw on a pair of jeans, a white tee shirt, my leather jacket, and my boots. I rush out of my room and run to the front door. Swinging it open, I say, "Wait for me!"
Cooper looks up at me and rolls his eyes, annoyed with my loudness. I jog over to him and the vehicle. "What's going on? Are you going somewhere?" I inquire. Cooper nods his head. "Yeah. Earlier, Carlos sent out a group to find our people but they failed. So I'm going with them this time to make sure we find them.
"Oh, damn. Why didn't you wake me sooner? I'll come too." I shrug.
"I don't know, Jasper. I'm already bringing Noah. Plus, this is a serious search party. I don't need you two sneaking off like always."
Suddenly, Noah appears from behind the vehicle holding a box of ammo and setting it inside.
I shake my head. "No, I know it's serious. I would come to help search. That's it. I won't distract him or myself." I hold my hands together in a pleading way. "Please, man. I'm gonna be bored if I'm stuck here all day."
Cooper rolls his eyes in contemplation. "Hey Noah, c'mere."
The brunet boy walks over while putting a backpack on. "Yeah?"
"If Jasper comes along, you're not gonna get distracted are you?" He says in a stern tone. I laugh on the inside. The way he said it made it seem...
Wait.
Noah's breath hitches. "What? Why would I... Why would I be distracted?" He stammers as he avoids any type of eye contact with me.
"Good." Cooper says. As we all load into the car, Cooper gives me a wink and I realize what he was trying to do just a second earlier. Sly bastard.
Cooper hops into the drivers seat and we drive away soon after.
Time skip~
(Cooper's POV)
After driving for about an hour, I see a familiar set of trees. I stop the car a bit suddenly which sends a few random scraps flying to the front. "Hmm? Did you find it?" A short man with a rifle in hand said to me. I tilt my head a bit. "This looks familiar here, so I think we are at least close."
I start driving again. Soon after I see a very familiar opening in the trees. I stop less abruptly this time. I look to the back seat where Noah, Jasper, and Carlos are sitting. "I think this is it." Carlos looks out the window, having a very shocked look on his face. He shakes it away straight afterwards.
"Something up Carlos?" He shakes his head. "Oh no! Everything's great! Let's go find your people." We all agree and get out of the vehicle.
After about five minutes of walking through the trees, we find our very well hidden camp. Only... it's empty.
⚠️TW: gorey description⚠️
Taking a good look at the place, it's looks to have been under attack. I look to Noah and Jasper, deciding whether or not I should let them continue to help look. I come to an agreement with myself and let the boys stay.
"I want you two to check by the medical tent." They nod hesitantly and makes their way over to it. Meanwhile, I cautiously step forward into the camp with my gun ready in hand. Suddenly, a crunch is heard under my foot. I look down to see a bloodied severed hand.
