(Noah's POV)

Cooper's eyes flutter open and he instantly groans. "Where the fuck are we?" My mom instantly rolls her eyes at his language but stays quiet.

Jasper trots down the stairs and plops down on the couch next to Cooper. "I drove us to this really remote cabin in the woods." He says plainly.

Cooper clenches his teeth. I don't know if it's out of pain or because he's mad. Probably both.

"Was anyone following us?" He growls. "Uh well no.. I doubt it at least. We made it out before anyone was able to see what direction we went. Plus this cabin is hidden pretty well in the trees. I only saw it because I was looking." Jasper replies.

Cooper leans back into the couch and groans. His eyes widen a bit at the sight of my sister. "Woah wait what the fuck?! Have you guys not given her the antidote yet?!" Cooper yells.

My mom holds up her hands as if to calm him down. "We just got done fixing you up. We can definitely do that now." She stands up and walks over to the bag of medical supplies, and picking up the small safe.

"We just need to get it opened." She finishes. Cooper nods. "Bring it here. Jasper go get me a rock from outside." Jasper quirks up an eyebrow but runs outside anyway, maneuvering around the dead biter on the floor in the process.

Mom walks over to Lexi and plants a kiss on her forehead. "You'll be okay, dear." She whispers. My mom can be judgmental and have a loud opinion, but there's no denying that she loves us more than anything. <3

Jasper walks back into the cabin with a decent sized rock. About the size of his hand. "Hand it here." Cooper ushers. He grabs the rock and steadies the pad lock in his hand.

We all wait for him to do something. He holds the rock in place for a moment before swinging it down hard on the lock, opening it.

"Huh. Well that works I guess." Jasper shrugs. Cooper carefully opens the safe, revealing the syringe. "I thought scientists were supposed to be... smart?" Jasper laughs. I breath out a laugh before quieting myself down.

"Would you like to do the honors, Ms. Ashwell?" Cooper asks while carefully holding up the antidote. She nods. "It would be my pleasure. And please, call me Denise." Cooper's eyes widen at her kindness but brushes it off and nods.

We all turn back around and look towards the couch where Lexi is.

Where... wait. "Where is she?" Jasper mumbles quietly. My heart drops to my stomach as my eyes scan over an empty couch.

"We have to find her! She's not in her right mind so she probably just wandered off... right?!" I nervously yell.

"Hey, we're gonna find her alright?" Jasper rests a hand on my back as my mother walks around the cabin.

I look up at Jasper and nod before we separate to look around.

I walk a bit around the cabin and find a small hallway near the back of it. It was pretty much empty but had a coat rack and a back door to the house.

The only lighting was from one flickering light bulb. "L-Lexi? Lexi if you can hear me please come back to the living room."

I walk further into the hallway before I hear footsteps behind me. I jump at the noise and turn around to see...

Nothing. What?

Tears prick at my eyes. "Lexi we aren't out of time yet. We can s-still give you the antidote. P-Please."

I walk further down the hall before I hear a groany noise come from just around the corner of it.

I finally reach the noise and see my older sister standing there blankly. She seemed to be swaying a bit, trying to hold herself up.
