(Lexi's POV)
After talking with Noah, we head back to our pod.
Everyone was still there from before. "Noah, sweetie are you alright?" My mother immediately smothers him. He just nods and rolls his eyes a bit.
Cooper waves my pill bottle in front of me. "So when do you need to take these?" I grab the bottle. "My nurse said one before every meal.. so three."
He nods at that. "If you need any help with taking these or anything then-"
"Oh that won't be necessary Cooper! I'm obligated to take care of her, as her mother of course." My mother interrupts as she snatches the pill bottle from me.
My face uncontrollably glares at her. "Mom I'm an adult, I've got this. Noah's here too, he's good with medicine and you know that." She nods, handing me back the bottle, and scoffs a little. "Yes yes... I know. Just don't be forgetful." She heads towards the door. "I won't, thanks Mom."
My mother smiles and exits our pod. I let out a sigh of relief. "Wow... she actually left you alone." Noah says in shock. I nod, surprised as well. "Yeah, that's a first for sure."
Jasper hops out of bed. "So this infection... could turn you?" He mumbles. Cooper shoots him a glare. "Way to lighten the mood, dumb fuck!"
I giggle a bit. "No no it's okay. Yes, it could possibly turn me-"
"But it won't. I wo- *ahem* We won't let it." Cooper says while stepping to my side. I smile a bit.
"Okay... but let's just say it starts to turn you. How would we know it was happening?" Jasper chimes in again. I walk over to my bedside table and grab the list my nurse gave me.
"I'll start to throw up more often, like a lot more often."
The group nods and I continue.
"Nose bleeds, migraines, and a few other things." I finish.
"Did they say when-"
"Okay okay, enough questions. It's about lunch time, let's head to the cafeteria." Cooper interrupts. The boys stop their questioning and file out of the pod, Cooper and I behind them.

(Jasper's POV)
Noah and I grab our lunch trays and sit down by our new "friends."
Only because Noah wants to, of course, considering I had a pretty good outburst at Ryder. The table is pretty awkward and silent, I'm assuming because of it.
Ezra breaks the silence. "So... does anyone want to come to the training room with me later? I wanted to practice-"
I choke on my drink a bit. "Training room?!" I interrupt. The whole table looks at me at my sudden outburst. I clear my throat. "Since when is there a training room?"
"Since the whole time you've been here. You knew this, did you forget?" Rae bites her grilled cheese. I give a confused look but still nod.
"So... can you show it to us?" I say while sipping my juice. Noah clears his throat across from me. "Us..?"
I give him a confused glance. "When did I say I wanted to do that?" He says in an oddly annoyed tone. Is he okay? I nod slightly. "Well I just thought that we-"
"I don't really feel like training. Maybe another time." He says while standing up and walking his tray over to the trash cans across the cafeteria.
I blink in shock but just go back to eating, ignoring the stares I was getting from the whole table.
"Trouble in paradise?" Ryder grins while popping a grape in his mouth. I roll my eyes. "Dude, not now." He puts his hands up in defeat and chuckles to himself a bit. "Whatever you say."
I finish my food and stand up, noticing that Noah still isn't back yet. "Did you guys see where he went after he threw away his trash?" They all shake their heads.
I maneuver my way to the trash cans and dump my food. Afterwards, I scan the room and see Cooper and Lexi at a table by themselves.
I jog a little up to them. "Have you guys seen Noah?" Lexi shakes her head. "No... wasn't he just with you?" I nod. "Yeah but he just disappeared out of nowhere."
"Just find him before dinner and don't lose him again." I roll my eyes. "He's not a puppy y'know?" I walk away and begin to search out of the cafeteria.
Short time skip~
I've been searching hallway after hallway, and I'm starting to get really worried if I'm being entirely honest. I hear some children coming from the daycare room. Maybe the caretaker saw Noah at some point.
I peek into the door. "Hey uh... excuse me? Have any of you seen-"
My eyes spot Noah holding one of the babies in the room and he seems to notice me too. "...uh never mind." I mumble to the caretaker across the room.
Noah sits on a couch and pats the baby's back. I maneuver myself around toys and blocks until I carefully sit down next to him. After a few minutes of silence, I decide to speak.
"Noah? What um... what happened at lunch?" He gives me a confused look and plasters on a smile, which seems forced and fake.
"What do you mean? I'm totally fine." He grins and continues to pat the baby. I lean back into the couch and sigh. "Obviously that's not the truth at all, and you know it."
He rolls his eyes a bit. "I don't know what you are talking about... but please don't start anything right now, we're in a daycare with sleeping babies."
I sigh and nod. Of course he had to choose the one place we could never actually talk. "Lexi and Cooper are worried you know... you can't just disappear from lunch without telling me where you're going."
He shakes his head in annoyance. "Of course I can. It's not like I'm some dog that should be on a leash. I can't even get hurt down here so what's the point?!" He says more loudly than intended.
The baby in his freckled arms hiccups and begins to wail. "..oh no..." He mumbles. The caretaker walks up and scoops the baby from Noah. He apologizes to the woman.
I grab his arm and pull him up. "Now we can go talk about this."
