(Cooper's POV)

No.

No, this can't happen.

Stress floods over me before I remember something. Wait... Noah's immune. Isn't it possible that Lexi is too? I mean they are related...

"Now hang on a sec..." I run a hand through my hair.

"There's a chance Lexi isn't infected. She-"

All of a sudden, I feel a grip over my forearm. I glance over to see Lexi giving me a stare. I could feel her telepathically telling me to shut up. But why?

"Never mind." I mumble.

Wendle gives me a confused look but shrugs it off.

"We haven't found an antidote yet but there's no need to panic. We have gotten pretty close to finding a cure for this. The man in the tube also didn't transform into that until about a month after it happened."

I pinch the bridge of my nose and squint my eyes. "Can you find a cure that quickly?" I growl. Wendle rests a hand on my shoulder. "I would be surprised if we didn't. You two should go take a walk or something so we can work instantly." He turns to Lexi. "We're also gonna notify your mother about this situation." Lexi nods while keeping the same shocked expression on her face.

"Y-Yeah... let's just go for a walk." I breathe and grab Lexi's hand. We exit the lab and walk down the hallway. Lexi squeezes my hand tightly and her expression never changes. I notice a bench down one of the hallways and I make my way towards it. I sit Lexi down and we sit there in silence for a good five minutes.

After awhile, she lowers her face into her hands and seems to start hyperventilating. "Lexi? You're okay." I say while rubbing circles into her back. She still whimpers for awhile before wiping her eyes and sitting up.

(Lexi's POV)

"W-What if they don't find a cure? I'll just end up in some tube like that other g-guy. E-Everyone will be terrified of me and I won't be able to stop it.."

"Lexi... what if you're immune? Like Noah? It's not out of the ballpark, right?" Cooper shrugs.

I wipes my eyes. "We never know. And it's not like we can ask. Can you imagine what they'd do with that information about Noah? What if they try to run tests on him or-"

"Lexi... it's okay." Cooper interrupts me. "We won't mention Noah unless everyone is comfortable. Okay?"

More worries flood into my brain. "I'm worried someone may find out. I'm not sure how trustable this place is-

I'm cut off by a sudden pressure to my lips.

Cooper was kissing me. The feeling lingered for awhile before I kissed him back passionately and pulled away shortly after. His hand rests on the side of my face.

"Nothing is going to happen to you, or any of us. Believe me when I say it." He says firmly. I nod and start to tear up. Cooper engulfs me into a tight hug and I instantly squeeze back, forgetting about my problems.

(Noah's POV)

Jasper and I are sitting with our new peers in a random hallway, with really nothing to do.

"So Noah when is your birthday? The people down here have been keeping track so maybe you already passed it." Ezra questions.

"Oh well uh... my birthday is September 21st. And I had no idea people still kept track of the date." I quirk an eyebrow in amusement.

"My birfday is April 14th! Isn't that cool Noah?" Aria smiles widely with pride. I giggle. "Ari wow, that's really cool." I high five her.
