Chapter 11 - Mess

Hiroki woke up to the sound of beeping of machine . His nostrils were immediately attacked by the smell of hospital's disinfectant. Aaaa......what a familiar feeling.

He sat up in his hospital bed , looked around while still in daze.

"Feeling better?"

Hiroki looked in the direction from where the voice came. It was Dr.Lee . 

Hiroki nodded in response and asked," How did I come here?"

"Someone named Tatsuya brought you here."

"WHAT?!"

"Yep. He brought you here."

Hiroki was tensed after hearing this. What if he comes to know about Hiroki's illness? No, that should not happen!

Dr. Lee suddenly said," Hiroki this is not good. "

Hiroki looked at Dr.Lee's face and knew something was serious. He asked," What's wrong?"

"I did a MRI scan today on you because your condition is getting worse day by day . At first I thought that it was just side effects of those medicines but ........it turns out that the infection in your heart is increasing rapidly. Also out of four valves of your heart , one of them has stopped working completely ."

Hiroki was silent. 

He didn't know what to say or what to do. He was completely lost. He really thought that his health was getting better but it turns out to be worst that anyone could imagine.

"One of the valve stopped working. How is that possible? Wasn't my health getting better? You checked on it just last month! How did it turn out like this?!" 

Hiroki was panicking. He saw all his dreams and ambitions getting crushed in front of his eyes and he was not able to do anything. All these years he worked so hard, did everything possible to improve his health after realizing how serious it was, gave up on normal things his colleagues were doing and what did he get in return? A broken body which now can't be repaired anymore.

Dr.Lee saw his expression and couldn't help but pitying him.

The first time he saw Hiroki was when he had major heart attack and was fighting with life and death. At that time no one was there by his side to give him any emotional, mental or moral support. He went through all that painful process all alone. And even today there was no one standing besides him , telling him it's all gonna be fine or just to stand beside him.

Lee has seen many sad things in his life as a doctor but then also he thought that it is all normal. That's just how nature works and he can't change it. But now that he is looking at this young man who has so many dreams to achieve , he couldn't help but feel that it was unfair. He always thought because of someone else Hiroki was suffering this much .

He calmly said to Hiroki," Don't give up. There is still an option for heart transplant . And don't worry about the expenses. You can use your health insurance for it."

Hiroki said plainly," It's been three years that I am on waiting list. What happened? Nothing. The two donors were ready to donate me but none of their heart matched with mine. I really am unlucky bastard."

"Don't lose faith. Trust me, okay? I will definitely find a way . Take rest and don't take so much stress. "

Lee gave some more instructions to Hiroki and told him that he will remain in hospital for 24 hours under observation.

After Dr.Lee left, there was a knock on the door and it was some stranger but a familiar (?) stranger.

The stranger woman said," Hello Mr. Hiroki. I am Mr. Tatsuya's secretary , Shin. How are you?"

"I am fine. I will get discharge tommorow. Please say thanks to Mr. Inoue from me."

Shin said," Mr. Tatsuya and Mr. Kirihitho wants to meet you after you get discharge. So I will be waiting here tonight and will take you directly to the office tomorrow."

"What?"

" You heard it right. Please take some rest now."

"What if I refuse?"

"I will force you."
