Chapter 81- Is this Company Worth It?

"You heard it right. We are cancelling the contract."

Hiroki couldn't believe his ears. He protested," But Mr.Inoue, we can't do it. If we cancel this contract the company's share-"

Some fat man shouted at him, interrupting his protest," You kid! What the hell do you know about business?! Huh?! You just came here some one month ago and you think you have mastered everything!"

Some other woman continued," Exactly. Are you trying to control the things going on here?! We clearly stated earlier that we won't be able to take two big projects at the same time! But then also you acted on your own and did this! Who do you think you are?!"

Hiroki got irritated when he heard their blabbering," I was just following the orders given to me by my employers. I didn't need your guidance on how to do my work. You-"

Tatsuya shouted," ENOUGH! Hiroki Kamazura, now I am giving you the order to cancel the contract! I don't need your opinion on this."

Hiroki frowned," But sir-"

Tatsuya banged his hand on the table," I said enough! Get out and follow the order which I gave you. Leave!"

Hiroki sighed in frustration but left as he was told. He contacted AD company's lawyer and cancelled the contract immediately. He apologized to them truly but the other party thought it was bulls***. Who would not?

Apparently, this contract cancellation caused a domino effect. When YZ company came to know about this, they also cancelled the contract and some other small projects they were doing were also cancelled. This came as a big surprise to everyone even Hiroki. He thought that they would lose some few other small projects but instead lost two of the biggest projects they were working on at that time.

Few days later, Hiroki sat in front of the TV in his office, frowning. He was seeing the news of how their company's share price fell by 18%. This was a huge loss. And it would require a lot of time to actually recover this loss, gaining profit was far away. He sighed in frustration. All the efforts, time and hardwork of the people who actually worked and care for this company were all wasted. Including his.

Someone knocked and he ordered them to come in. They were Sheila, Ravi and Anna. He looked at them with utter confusion because they didn't talk with him after that incident.

Sheila hesitated but said," Head, we are sorry."

Hiroki frowned," For what?"

Ravi," For everything."

Anna," We should not have behaved like that. I mean, like brats."

Hiroki," And why are you apologising to me now?"

Sheila," We wanted to apologise earlier but......... didn't have it in us to face you."

Hiroki looked at the trio with dissatisfaction," Should you be really sorry to me or this company?"

"..."

He continued," Look, I have no interest in tormenting you or bullying you. I just did and said those things because I cared for this company. But you took it the wrong way. If I really wanted to do something bad to you, I would have fired you long time ago."

"..."

He sighed," But now..........it doesn't matter. You all are seeing in what condition this company is."

Sheila," Head, we can still change this crisis in opportunity. We can still do it."

Hiroki got up and said," As I said, it doesn't matter anymore. Not our efforts or our hardwork."

He left, leaving the trio absolutely stunned. They had never seen Hiroki being so negative and giving up. When he took the charge of this company, he was so optimistic but now..........

Hiroki stood in front of a conference room where they were going to discuss about the current crisis company was going through. He sighed and entered the room. Everyone's attention went towards his direction. He looked at all of them with disappointment and sat on his allocated seat.

Shin cleared her throat and said," Hiroki, these three gentlemen are the directors of this company. Mr.Ishijaka, Mr.Arnold and Mr.Yahiko. And he is Hiroki Kamazura, recently appointed as legal advisor."

Yahiko commented," Isn't he too young to be a legal advisor?"

Arnold snorted," Exactly."

Ishijaka added," I guess due to his decision only we are suffering from such a huge loss."

Hiroki frowned but didn't say anything.

He looked at the duo sitting in the centre avoiding eye contact with him. Then he looked at the fat guy and the woman who shouted at him few days ago, telling him how he was incapable, directly or indirectly. They also avoided his eyes.

Tatsuya said causing everyone to look at him," This isn't the time to blame anyone. We need to think about how to get out of this situation. Our share price has dropped by 18%. This is the biggest loss our company has suffered since it was started. Does any of you have any suggestions or ideas? Anything?"

Yahiko," First of all Tatsuya and Kirihitho, stop listening to your employees every single demand. Second of all, don't give them so much freedom. And third of all, stop hiring such young and inexperienced people at such high post. They are the biggest cause of our losses." He said this directly looking at Hiroki who ignored him.

Hiroki sat up straight and said," Right now, we have only three or two small projects in our hand. After that, the production will be stopped completely if we don't get any more projects. And the head of finance department and human resources department know this very well how much it costs us per hour if we stop the production work.
So, I think, our priority should be focusing on how to bring in more projects rather than worrying about the ages of people."

Yahiko's face turned red in anger but before he could say anything, he was interrupted by Arnold," Hiroki is right. We are in need of projects, right now. I have few clients but I don't think it will help to rise the share prices."

There was a pin-drop silence in the room. Everyone was lost in their own worries and problems except Hiroki who was way too calm for such situation. He said after a while," It doesn't matter."

Arnold," Huh?"

"I said, it doesn't matter. Right now, even if a third grade client is signing contract with us, it will help a lot."

Yahiko shouted," You are saying our company isn't even worth third grade client now?! Huh?!"

Hiroki gave him a blank look," I will ask you the same question. Do you really think, giving our current position, this company is worth as much as third grade client?"
