Chapter 49- Second Hearing [Part 1]

After a short while, judge entered the room and soon the hearing started.

Judge," Plaintiff, hopefully you are prepared today."

Hiroki," Yes."

"Okay then. Go ahead."

Hiroki," First of all, I want to call upon the dean of Mami's college. He-"

Kakeru," I object."

Judge," Why?"

Kakeru," What does the dean has got anything to do with this?"

Hiroki," Of course he has got something to do with this. He is one of the accusers who said Mami was sex worker."

Judge," Objection overruled."

Kakeru sat back with humph.

Hiroki started questioning the Dean.

Hiroki," So when I visited you yesterday, you said that Mami Sachio was a sex worker. Okay. Also Mami's mother is trying to destroy your college's deligent students life. So that means these four never bullied Mami. Am I right?"

Dean said with confidence," Of course! They are very hard-working and talented students. They would never do such thing."

Hiroki smiled," Aaa....... Okay. You can take your seat."

Dean was confused," That's it?"

"Yeah that's it."

Hiroki walked near Haru and asked," Ms.Haru, what dean told right now, is it true or not?"

Haru hesitated for a moment and replied," He isn't telling the truth."

Some people gasped. While Hakuto and Mirai frowned.

Hiroki continued," That means, you bullied her?"

"Yes. We did. For two whole years."

Kakeru stood up," Why are you telling a lie, Haru? That also about your own friends in the court of justice. This was not expected from you."

Haru frowned," But I am not lying. My lord, I am not telling a lie!"

Kakeru walked in front and said," But you don't have any footage or testimony to prove that you are telling the truth, do you?"

"..."

Hiroki interrupted," Who said that?"

Kakeru frowned," Huh?"

Hiroki started the TV. It showed various images of bullying and at the end the video was played. Kisame, Nabuki and Ningning's face paled. Kakeru looked at screen in disbelief. Kaneki clenched his fists while others started murmuring among themselves.

Hiroki looked at Nabuki," So, do you wanna say anything?"

Nabuki stuttered," W-we indeed bu-bullied her because she complained about us to the professor about cheating. Tha-" ,his eyes widened after saying this.

Kakeru face palm himself. Judge asked," So you assaulted someone because they complained about you? Are you insane or something?"

"..."

Hiroki," So dean told a lie. Anyways. For wether Mami Sachio was a sex worker or not, Ningning Shirahane what do you think?"

She said," What do you mean by what do I think? I don't know anything."

Hiroki," Oh, really?"

Ningning looked at Kisame as if asking - What should I say?

Hiroki," Why are you looking at him?"

Ningning," That.....that-"

"It's fine. Take your time to reply. But until then listen to me. From what I have heard, your boyfriend, Kane, really liked Mami before you both got into the relationship. As soon as you came to know about this, the rumor that Mami was a sex worker started spreading in the college. And then you became Kane's girlfriend. What a coincidence, right?"

Ningning whispered," That-"

Hiroki," I can't hear you. Say loudly."

Ningning shouted," Fine! I was the one who spread those rumor about her! Because that bi**h f**king tried to steal my boyfriend! She asked for it! It was not my mistake!"

Kakeru rubbed his face in frustration. While murmuring increased.

Judge," Silence."

Hiroki chuckled," Yeah right. That means Mami wasn't killed by one of her so called customers but someone else. Am I right?"

Ningning started sweating," I don't know."

Hiroki smiled," That's fine. You will know soon." Hiroki looked at the judge and continued," Now, I want to call upon Amor Cafe's manager"

Judge," Permission granted."

Hiroki," Mr.Manager, that trio stayed in your cafe until-"

Manager," 10pm."

"Right. And there was a short circuit that's why there is no footage available to show the court wether you are telling the truth or not. Am I right?"

Manager wasn't tense at all," No. But there were other people present there on that day. And they will reply the same thing as I do 'cause it is the truth."

Hiroki was astonished," Wow. You are confident."

Kakeru interrupted," Of course he is. After all that's the truth."

Hiroki looked at him," Oh, is it? Let me ask you a question."

Kakeru," Go ahead."

Hiroki," What exactly happens during a short circuit?"

Kakeru laughed mockingly," You don't know?! Hahahahaha!! I will tell you. When excess current flows through the wire, that excess current causes damage to the wire and the electric appliance it is connected to."

Hiroki," Right. Then you also know that, that excess current causes sparks or sometimes maybe even fire to the meter box or the device?"

Manager frowned.

Kakeru also looked at Hiroki with a frown," Of-of course."

Hiroki suddenly turned around and asked manager," Then how come the meter box in the cafe was completely fine? Even the dates on them were from three months before i.e. when the cafe opened. That means, the meter box was nor repaired neither replaced. Mr.Manager, are you telling a lie?"

Manager looked at Kaneki. Hiroki also looked where the manager was looking. He mocked," Am I asking the question or he is?"

Manager avoided Hiroki's eye contact," I don't know."

"What you don't know?"

Manager pointed his finger at Kaneki and shouted loudly," HE TOLD ME TO TELL A LIE! HE SAID IF I DIDN'T HE WILL KILL MY FAMILY! B-B-BELIEVE IN ME!!!"

Hiroki winced in pain when he heard his shout.

Manager started panicking even more," WHY AREN'T YOU SAYING ANYTHING?! I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO LIE!!! "

Hiroki frowned even more, walked towards his seat and sat down.

Judge," Stop shouting! Officers! Throw him in the prison."

Manager,"NO!! PLEASE DON'T!!!!!PL-", He was pushed out of the court room forcefully.

Judge looked at Hiroki," Plaintiff, are you okay?"

Hiroki nodded.

"Let's continue."
