Chapter 10 - Broken

When Hiroki reached at firm , he was immediately called in Mikato's office. Hiroki knew something was wrong.

Hiroki started," Why did-"

" You are fired."

"Huh?"

"I said you are fired. Clean your desk and leave by today."

Hiroki just stood at his place looking blankly at Mikato.

" Did you not hear me? I said you are fired. Get out of my office!"

"Why?"

" Why you ask. Who told you to pull that stunt and decline his offer. Were you not in your senses? He called me and told me if I didn't fire you he will not let us work with him anymore. Why did you have-"

"I see. So that's the reason." Hiroki smiled," Then ,I will take my leave. Thank you for letting me work under you." And he left the office.

Mikato looked dumbfounded and slumped back on his chair.' What have I done? I let a talent go to waste because of someone's ego.'

Hiroki started cleaning up his desk. Mikasa saw this and teasingly asked him," Why are cleaning up your desk? " She gasped," No way! Did you get fire?"

"Yes."

"I kne- wait ! What do you mean by that?" There was concern in her voice.

Hiroki plainly replied " I got fired today because I took a step without taking permission from Mr.Mikato."

" So he fired you ?! That's bulsh**! I will go and talk to him."

"No need. Mikasa , thank you for treating me kindly. I hope to work with you in the future .Take care."

" If you are leaving then I am leaving too."

" What are you saying? You have a child to take care of. And don't worry about me I will find a job very soon. I am talented after all."

Mikasa finally laughed and said," A**hole. If you need any help I am always here. And I will visit you soon . Take care of your health."

"Okay ,mom."

Mikasa chuckled and hugged him," I will miss you."

Hiroki felt something wet on his shoulder. He also wanted to cry, to complain to her but he hold himself back and said," Now crybaby ,let me go. It's not like I am leaving this planet. I am just leaving this workplace."

He bid goodbye to Mikasa and left. He didn't have anyone in that office except Mikasa to say goodbye even though he worked there for almost 3 years. Sad right? 

Some people in this world hate you for being who you are. They taunt , hurt you but for what? Just for their enjoyment or their jealousy? 

Hiroki really didn't have a great day today. Even though he was very optimistic person, today he felt like giving up on everything and just go far away from all of this mess.........at least for one day. But reality doesn't work like that. It always slaps you in the face and forces you to face the cruelty of this world.

Hiroki walked for a long time today before going home. He always used to buy some sweets whenever he went for a walk but today he returned home with a box full of his office work. He stood in the hallway of his apartment for long time.

His apartment wasn't very big . A one room kitchen .Then also it was always enough for him. But today he felt really suffocated standing there. 

He looked in the direction of cupboard below his TV. He opened it and took out a frame and started talking with it,

"Gramps, how are you up there? I am not doing so fine today. I finally met siso( Mikarin) . Apparently, she also hates me just like everyone else." Hiroki's voice started cracking but he still continued," I am sorry Gramps . I was the reason you died. If only I would have listened to you that day-" 

He couldn't continue after this. He cried for a long time holding his grandmother's frame very tightly in hands and finally fell asleep.

The next day Hiroki woke up with very high fever. It was getting more and more difficult for him to breathe. He thought that it was effect of medicines and all the stress.

First thing he did in the morning was applying for jobs. He needed to find a job as soon as possible. Even though he had savings , they wouldn't last for more than five months and if he added his medical bills then it would only last for three months.

He didn't want the past to repeat again. That time he ignored his illness in order to complete his education and something terrible happened to him. He didn't even want to think about it.

Hiroki was feeling really dizzy. It was becoming difficult for him to focus on anything , his breathing was also getting heavy.

He finally decided to visit hospital even though he could barely afford it.

Hiroki started walking towards the bus stop which was not very far away. While walking he was barely able to keep his conscious. He regreted his decision of visiting hospital. 

He finally reached the bus stop, slumped on the ground and passed out.........
