Chapter 59- How did You Know?

Hiroki and Ai came in kitchen where some maids were either gossiping or working. As soon as he entered, they became alert and asked with respect," Young master, do you need anything? Should we prepare dinner for you?"

Hiroki smiled and said," It's fine. I will make dinner by myself. Can you all please leave?"

All the maids nodded and left within two minutes. Hiroki walked near the area in front of kitchen counter where another counter was present. He picked Ai up, which was a really risky thing to do, and made her seat there as there were no baby chairs available.

He noticed that Ai was still sniffling so he picked up some tissues and wiped her face gently. He asked her carefully," Ai, what do you want to eat? I will make it for you."

She didn't respond and stared at her hands. He sighed slightly and then again asked," Do you like spaghetti?"

Ai nodded lightly.

Hiroki smiled," Great! Then I will make it for both of us with some cherry tomatoes."

He searched for all the ingredients required to make the dish and put them in front of Ai who was still lost in her little world. Hiroki tapped in front of her and asked," Will you help me? Please?"

She smiled. Hiroki thought of this as yes and gave her some small task to do while he was preparing the noddles. She slowly started talking with him again. And that talking lead to smile and then laughter. Hiroki victory danced in his head when Ai finally started talking.

She shouted with excitement," Look uncle! I peeled it! I am amazing!"

Hiroki chuckled and said," Indeed you are amazing. Great job, Ai."

"What's going on here?"

They both looked at the intruder and Ai said with excitement," Glandpa! Welcome back! We ale making spa-spa....." She looked at Hiroki asking for help.

"Spaghetti."

"Yeah! That thing!"

Hakuto asked," Well, can I join you two?"

Ai said with more enthusiasm," Yes! Come on! Sit hele!"

After Hakuto settled down, Hiroki gave him warm water to drink which surprised Hakuto a lot but at the same time made him happy. He drank it immediately and started helping Ai with whatever she was doing.

Hakuto asked Hiroki," How did everything go today?"

Hiroki smiled with satisfaction," Great. It went way more amazing than I thought. We came to an agreement and signed contract immediately. I am starting from tommorow."

Hakuto said with concern," Then shouldn't you be resting right now? Why are you making dinner?"

Hiroki," To be honest, I was tired of eating grass everyday and Ai had a tough day today, so I am making dinner to cheer her up."

Hakuto looked at Ai who was concentrating on peeling, oblivious of her surroundings. He asked," Is it related to Itsuki?"

Hiroki was shocked," You noticed?"

Hakuto sighed," Since the day he came back. I guess he is suffering from PPD."

Hiroki," I think so too."

Ai asked suddenly," What's PPD?"

Hakuto ruffled her hair and said," Nothing."

After Hiroki was done, he served in three plates, arranged them and sat. Hakuto and Ai were ready to dig in after seeing the tasty spaghetti in front of them. Hiroki chuckled," Let's eat."

Hakuto," Bon appetite."

Ai," Tlhank you!"

As soon as Ai and Hakuto took first bite, they were hit with the amazing flavours of the dish. They stared at their plates with wide eyes. Hiroki was concerned after seeing their reaction and asked," Is something wrong? Is it too spicy? Or too bland?"

Hakuto said with shock," Hiroki, seriously, you made this?"

He nodded with hesitation.

Hakuto was extremely surprised," This-this is amazing! This is even better than three stars Micheline restaurants! Wow!". He continued eating.

Ai also said," Wow uncle! This taste amazing!"

Hiroki," I am glad you liked it."

Hakuto said while humming," Liked it? Loved it!"

Hiroki chuckled at their response.

They continued their dinner while Ai and Hakuto talked about this and that. After they were done eating, Hiroki gave them chocolate pastries which he brought earlier from Aunt Maria's bakery. After having such an amazing dinner and then given this another piece of heaven, Ai and Hakuto were on cloud nine. Hiroki laughed at both of their reactions.

Soon, Ai fell asleep in Hakuto's arms while he and Hiroki were having tea. He asked," What do you think we should do about Itsuki's condition?"

Hiroki put his cup down and said," It's best for him to visit a therapist. Also, a vacation won't be a bad option. But only he and Mr.Kai should go. Not the kids."

Hakuto was startled after Hiroki didn't call Kai as brother but ignored it and continued," I can't believe this. Itsuki himself is a psychology professor and he himself is suffering from PPD."

"This all happened because of that incident. If it wasn't for that to happen, he won't be suffering so much."

Hakuto looked at Hiroki with frown," That incident? Which one?"

"..."

Hakuto asked seriously," How did you know what happened to him? Kai never told anyone except me. How do you know about it?"

Hiroki sighed," I was the one who took him to the hospital."

"Huh!"

"I was the one who found him on roadside, took him to hospital and contacted Mr.Kai."

"But he never said anything to me about this."

"Maybe he forgot. There was too much going at that time."

Hakuto nodded. Soon after, their conversation came to an end and they both went back to their rooms. Hakuto tucked Ai in her bed and kissed her forehead. He thought about what Hiroki said earlier and contacted his secretary.

Hiroki was standing on his balcony staring at the sky full of stars. He thought,' Gramps, how are you up there? Do you miss me?...........I miss you a lot. Every single day.'
