Chapter 26- VAD

Hiroki passed out..........

He woke up in a familiar white room.' Damn it! Why I wake up in a damn hospital after everytime I pass out?'

He looked up at the ceiling and wanted to curse at God. After glaring at the ceiling for quite some time, he looked at his banded arm. At that moment, Hiroki heard some shouts from outside of his room. 

He walked towards the door and shouts were getting more clear. It was as if someone was scolding someone.

He opened the door and looked outside. Everyone present outside looked at him. He stood there awkwardly. 

Hiroki," Hi?" 'Seriously, hi? WHAT are you thinking?'

Hakuto said," Why are you out of your bed? Go back and rest! Mia, take him inside."

Before leaving Hiroki said," You don't have to scold Haru. It wasn't her fault. She didn't even know I had IV drip attached."

After Hiroki went inside, Hakuto asked Haru," What were you even thinking while doing this?"

Haru stood there without saying anything.

Hakuto was already angry and after seeing her silence it angered him more," Haru! I am taking with you! Do you have any idea what could have happened if that IV drip would have gone more deep? He would have died! I don't understand, why are you mad at him? What did he do to you to be mad at him?"

Haru said with tears in her eyes," Why am I mad at him? He fu**ing destroyed our family! No one talks with each other happily anymore! The mere sight of him makes me want to murder him! If it weren't for him Sister ( Mikarin) would have never left! If it weren't for him, Brother Hikaru woudn't be traumatized! If it weren't for him, mother won't be sick! IF IT WEREN'T FOR HIM WE WON'T BE SAD AND SELF BLAMING!"

Haru ran off after saying this. She was mad. So mad, that her father wasn't able to see that Hiroki was destroying their family. She was mad that her brother and sister were traumatized by Hiroki. But above all, she was mad at herself. She didn't mean to hurt Hiroki like this. She didn't mean to make Hiroki faint like this. She didn't mean to be a bad sister to Hiroki like this.

Haru knew in back of her mind that Hiroki wasn't capable of doing those things in the past. But she couldn't help blaming him after her family got destroyed.

She ran for a long time. She didn't know where she was going. She just ran untill her legs gave up.

She sobbed and shouted, "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO MY FAMILY? WHAT DID WE DO WRONG? WHAT IS OUR FAULT? WHY IS BROTHER HIROKI SO SICK? WHY DIDN'T HE COME BACK TO ASK OUR HELP? DOES HE HATE US? WHY DIDN'T HE COME BACK?!"

Today, she came to know how bad was Hiroki's condition. At first, she thought it was a joke. She really wished it was a joke but it wasn't. Her brother, her ex-favourite brother was dieing and she couldn't do anything. She was just able to stand aside and see her brother suffering. She hated this. She really hated this.

Back in hospital, Hikaru stared at the running back of Haru and couldn't help sighing.

He sat down and thought about what Dr.Noman said earlier.

Two hours before

Dr.Noman came out of room after treating Hiroki's wound.

Hakuto and Haru were waiting outside.

He looked at Hakuto and said," Hiroki didn't faint due to lack blood."

Hakuto looked at him in confusion," Then, why did he faint?"

Noman sighed heavily," It is due to lack of oxygen and blood supply to brain."

Hakuto and Haru stared at him with wide eyes. Hakuto's voice trembled," W-what do you mean by that? You didn't say anything about it yesterday. Why-why suddenly?"

"I had my doubts during yesterday's check up, that's why I didn't say anything to you. But today those doubts are resolved. Due to the infection, his heart has also become weak."

"Now what? At this rate, what will happen?"

"You should think about LVAD surgery."

"What is this?"

"LVAD surgery is an open heart surgery. In this we attached a machine called VAD to patient's heart so that it can pump blood properly to all parts of body. It works just like a normal heart. I think, this surgery is very important for Hiroki so that his surviving rate will increase more untill he finds a donor."

Hakuto didn't think for second and said," Then do it. What are you waiting for?"

"Permission."

Hakuto said angrily," Whose permission? I already granted it. Who else's permission do you need?"

Noman replied blankly," Hiroki's."

"Wh-?"

"If you have forgotten I will remind you. You have disowned Hiroki Kamazura. You have no right to make decisions for him even if you are his biological father."

Hakuto went silent. Noman was indeed right. He didn't have any legal rights to make decisions for Hiroki. For first time in his life, he regreted disowning Hiroki.

Noman said," After he wakes up, ask him. If he refuses, we won't be able to do anything."

Present

Hakuto sat there for long time before entering the room where Hiroki was present.

He ordered Mia to go outside, sat on the stool besides the bed and said to Hiroki," We need to talk."
