Chapter 62- Don't give Excuses

Their meeting soon came to an end.

Sheila exited Hiroki's office and saw an anxious Ravi waiting for her. He asked her immediately," Are you okay? Did anything happen?"

Sheila sat in her seat and responded," He seemed professional. He just asked me about the projects we are handling and for our cooperation."

Ravi raised his eyebrows in surprise," Really? He didn't behave like a spoilt brat?"

Sheila shook her head.

Ravi," Wow. He must be different than we thought."

Soon, lunch break arrived. Hiroki was still drowned in his work and completely forgot about eating. A small knock was heard and Anna entered his office. She said with professionalism," Head, someone is here to meet you."

Hiroki looked up at her in confusion. Anna also looked at him in confusion. He snapped out of his thoughts and replied okay. After he finished his work, he went out and saw Mia waiting for him with his lunch box and medicines.

She walked near him and handed him everything," You forgot this."

Hiroki took it and went back inside, without even replying her. Mia looked at his descending back and sighed in frustration. She contacted Hakuto to give him report.

Hiroki came inside and the trio looked at him. He smiled slightly and went inside his office.

Anna was the first one to say," Did you look at his bag of medicines?"

Ravi," I did! That seems a lot of medicines."

Anna," I know! I hope his disease isn't infectious."

They both continued gossiping while Sheila looked at his office door thinking about something.

After eating lunch and taking medicines, Hiroki was feeling drowsy. He decided to take a ten minutes power nap. At that moment, Sheila walked in and saw Hiroki sleeping. Something in her snapped. She walked near him and angrily threw files at his table making a bang sound. Hiroki was startled awake and looked at her in shock.

Hiroki asked her with surprise," What?"

Sheila said with anger," Are you here to sleep? While we all are working our asses off here, you are sleeping? Do you have any idea in what big mess our company is right now? Huh? Oh my god! I can't believe they appointed someone like you!"

Hiroki pinched his nose and said calmly," Don't misunderstand. I am not sleeping. I just took a power nap of ten minutes. And I know it very well in what big mess our company is."

Sheila rolled her eyes and taunted," Oh! Do you? Then the contract that I gave you in morning, is it ready?"

"No. Because I-"

Sheila cut him off in mid sentence and said with anger," Don't give excuses, head. If you were not capable of doing this job, why did you accept this? We are already struggling a lot. And you are just being burden to us."

Hiroki got up and said," Sheila listen to me, will you? I have already read the entire contract and made some changes in it but I wanted to confirm them from you. That's why I said it isn't ready."

Sheila's face turned red in embarrassment," Th-then why didn't you call me earlier?"

Hiroki walked near the sofa, picked up the file and handed it to her. He said," I was going to but I saw you were very busy so I didn't call."

"O-oh."

Sheila looked at the changes Hiroki made and was impressed. She asked in surprise," Did you make this changes?"

"Yeah, is there something wrong? Tell me."

"No, this is amazing. We will go with this contract."

Hiroki smiled," Great. Then print it out and give it Shin. Also, the land dealing you were talking about this morning, I contacted that lawyer and he said the approval has passed and said to collect the papers by tomorrow afternoon."

Sheila was shocked," What?! They approved? They weren't doing that for last two months! How did you do that?"

Hiroki chuckled," Well, the lawyer who was handling that project is one of my subordinate, that's why."

Sheila gasped," You completed two of our biggest projects in one day?! Damn! Oh my god!"

Hiroki sat back in his seat and started checking out the files that she brought in earlier. Sheila cleared her throat and said," The meeting is at 3pm, so should we get going?"

Hiroki said with tense tone," About that, can you go alone? I don't think my presence is necessary."

"That's not true. The head of legal office should be present in every important dealing. You have to come."

Hiroki sighed slightly," Okay."

They both left for the meeting room on 16th floor. Some of the staff were already present there. They both took their respective seats and Hiroki asked Sheila to take notes of the meeting. Soon everyone was settled down except the CEOs. 

Hiroki wispered towards Sheila," Are the CEOs always late?"

Sheila," Yea. Not only they are late, but they also act arrogantly. This is going to be difficult. We have already lost three contracts due their arrogance. If we lose this one too*sigh* it is going to be difficult."

Hiroki made a mental note about this.

Finally, Kirihitho and Tatsuya arrived and the meeting started. The counter company with whom the contract was going to be signed suddenly put three demands in front of them which were never talked about before. Sheila frowned and said to Hiroki," Head, they never talked about this three demands. If we decide to add them, most of the favour of this contract will go to them. What should we do now? We are supposed to sign this contract by today."

Tatsuya said to Hiroki," What do you think about this demands, Hiroki?"

Hiroki sighed and said," We need some more time to think about this. We can't just abruptly accept it."

The counter company's legal advisor said," The contract should be signed by today. Or else, we won't continue this dealing."

Everyone's face turned pale after hearing this but Hiroki didn't lose his composure. He said," Okay then."

Sheila shouted," Head!"

Hiroki ignored her and continued," If you are not ready to co-operate, then we can't do anything. Thank you for your time."

The CEO of other company suddenly said," Wait! How much time do you need?"

Hiroki thought for awhile and said," Three days."

CEO nodded," Okay. The contract signing will continue at our company after three days."

Hiroki smiled in response.
