Chapter 5- The chase Ensued

Mirai paced back and forth, looking distressed and angry. She kept on mumbling something to herself, as if contemplating whether to say it out loud or not.
Since Itsuki's parents left, she was behaving like this, which was, to be very honest, irritating. It was irritating the crap out of everyone present there.

Hiroki was already exhausted, so, he didn't have even 1% capacity to deal with her bulls*** at that moment. He got up and was about leave when Mirai started ranting," You! Where to do you think you are going?!!"

Hiroki gave her a tired look but didn't say anything.

His silence triggered Mirai's anger to whole another level. She marched towards him angrily and slapped him hard across his face. She growled," You caused this mess and have the f**king audacity to give me such a look?!"

Mikarin pushed Mirai back lightly and stood in between son and mother duo. She warned her mother," Mom, stop. This isn't a good time."

Mirai scoffed and said loudly," WHY?"

Mikarin sighed in frustration and said," Did you forget?"

Mirai's eyes by now were turned red in pure anger and hatred. She glared at Hiroki standing behind Mikarin and said," Ha! Just because tomorrow is mom's death anniversary, I should keep quiet. Why? Because he gets sensitive about it all the time?" She said with menance," Get over it already, Hiroki Kamazura. It's going to be 12 years tomorrow. And no matter how much you regret or cry about it, she isn't going to come back!!She is dead! She is gone! And she is never going to come back!"

She walked past Mikarin, who tried to stop her. Mirai held Hiroki's arms tightly and begged," When she was alive you made her life a living hell. Even at her last moments, she wasn't able to live her life because of you! I beg you, Hiroki, don't make our lives a living hell, too, or else when we are gone, only regret will be left!"

Hiroki looked at his mom, with eyes filled with tears, threatening to fall down. He looked completely devastated but……he still smiled back at her and whispered only one word," Okay."
He wriggled out of Mirai's grip and left the mansion very quietly.

Mikarin was too stunned to say anything, so she looked at Mia helplessly. Mia nodded her head and followed Hiroki out.
She looked at Mirai, who was lost in trance. She wanted to say many things like How could you?, Why did you say it now?………but nothing came out. In the end, only disappointment was left in her heart. She turned around and was about to leave when she saw Haru looking at her while crying. Mikarin completely forgot that she was still here. She tried calling out to her but Mito started crying loudly and went back to her room.' She should not have seen this.', was Mikarin's thought.

Mia followed a drained Hiroki and said," Sir, we should take a car with us! You should not walk so much. Doctor told you so many times already."

Hiroki sighed to himself and kept on walking but Mia just won't. stop. pestering. him. In the end, he stopped and looked around himself. He saw a sandwich stall with few people in the line. He decided to take this golden opportunity to escape from Mia.
He looked at her and said," I am hungry."

Mia stopped dead in her tracks and looked confused. She looked where Hiroki was looking and nodded her head," Okay. I will bring something for you to eat. Stay here."

Hiroki nodded his head and waited until Mia was ordering.

Mia took a sandwich and just as she was about to walk, she saw Hiroki getting in a taxi. Her first reaction was panick and she ran off behind the taxi. Of course, she couldn't catch it but she noted down the number. She immediately called someone and ordered them to track down the taxi. She ran towards their car which was following them all along and yanked driver out of it. She pressed on the accelerator and drove off.

The driver looked at the leaving car with utter confusion. He thought, ' Who is she chasing after if master Hiroki is right here?'
He looked at Hiroki who was standing not so far from the driver and winked his eye at him. The driver blushed and looked away in embarrassment. When he looked back, Hiroki was already gone.

The chase soon ensued between Mia's car and taxi. The taxi driver was so scared of someone following him that he started driving fast. On the other hand, Mia thought Hiroki was ordering the driver to drive fast. She gritted her teeth and rammed on the accelerator paddle. In few seconds, she over took the taxi and stopped infront of it. The taxi driver immediately hit the brakes so as to avoid the collision. People around them started gathering, thinking something big was going on.

Mia got out of the car and opened the passanger door only to find no one was sitting there. She frowned and glared at the taxi driver who flinched in response. She growled," Where is he?"

"Wh-who?"

"That guy who just sat in your taxi!!", She said angrily.

The driver started trembling in fear," H-he got off immediately after he sat. I re-really don't know where he is!!"

Mikarin kicked the taxi in frustration! How could she be so dumb?!! She fell for such an amateur trick!!
