A single tear rolled down your cheek as you watched your husband sleep, his eyelids fluttering as his mind filtered through a dream, his arms pulling at his pillow to hug it, holding it tight against his chest as he chuckled softly, a sleepy smile on his rosy lips.

Your hands were shaking as you reached your arm out to balance an envelope with the name 'Minseok' neatly inscribed on the ivory parchment, your quivering fingers making it uneasy to steady the paper, your muffled sobs stinging at your chest. "I'm sorry," you muttered softly in a weak, sympathetic tone. You pulled out you keys from the pocket of your jeans and worked the key to Xiumin's front door off the loop and placed it near the letter on the small bedside cabinet.

Picking up your suitcase by the handle you carried it out of the master bedroom, not wanting to wheel it incase the squeaking woke your husband up from his slumber, catching you in the midst of leaving. You slowly trudged down the first floor landing, head down, feet dragging against the carpet, the corner of your lips pulled down in a frown.

You stopped at the top of the stairs, looking off into the room to the right of the first step, the door was ajar, the musical tingling of metal upon metal sounded from inside the dark room. Pressing your finger tips against the cold white painted wood you pushed gently, the door gliding open with a quiet 'eek'. You slowly walked inside, sighing heavily as your eyes gazed over the decor. The light blue painted walls, the glossy white set of Chester draws neatly arranged under the large window, the glass framed by curtains covered in printed pictures of numerous modes of cartoon transportation.

Setting you bag down in the middle of the room you walked over to the draws, biting down on your lip as you pulled on of them open, tears sparkling in your eyes as you reached in and grabbed one of the fleece new born all in ones, your fingers massaging the soft fabric. A tear falling to catch on the material. This room was a burden, all it reminded you of was how much hard work Xiumin's has put into it, spending each and every hour he had free in here painting walls and assembling furniture.

You folded up the onesie, carrying it with you out the room, stopping to stare into the empty cot before you grabbed your bag, quickly and quietly walked back into the master bedroom, set the baby clothes on the dresser near the note and key and left, locking the door using Xiumin's key before posting it through the letter box and hopping in your car.

It was your car engine revving up that woke Xiumin, him sitting up suddenly in bed with a loud snort, his hands clenching into a fist to rub the sleep from his eyes, him frowning when he saw that your side of the bed was not only empty, but was made up neatly, the pillow fluffed and the duvet folded and tucked under the mattress. He spotted the things cluttering his bedside table when he reached to switch on the light, his hand gripping the baby pyjamas first, bringing the soft material up to press against his cheek. He furrowed his eyes when he saw the envelope, so reaching for it he set the clothes down and pulled a small note from within the neatly sealed parchment.

His eyes widened and started to dampen as he read the four words you scribbled onto that piece of paper.

"Goodbye, Minseok. I'm sorry"
