"Are you not man enough?" you teased, using your elbow to nudge Luhan's side, him wincing a little and vigorously rubbing at his rib as he stared up at the huge ghostly looking fairground horror house with wide eyes. "Are you scared, Luhan?"
"I am not scared!" He protested, tearing his gaze from the haunted building to glare at you, a slight twinkle of fear evident in the corner of his iris. "I'm just wary."
"Wary of what?" you chuckled as you linked your arm through Luhan's. "You can admit it to me, Lulu." You let the corners of your lips twitch up into a mischievous smirk. "I know your really a scaredy-cat."
Luhan's expression suddenly changed, all the fear in his eyes washing away and being replaced with pure determination, his dark chocolate eyes strong and cold, his lips pressed into a thin line, jaw clenched. He unhooked your arm from his and grabbed your hand, storming forwards towards the ticket booth, pulling a slightly startled you behind him. "Two please," Luhan asked the ticket attendant sternly.
Snatching the tickets from his hand Luhan strode towards the entrance, you still struggling to keep up with his brisk pace. Reaching the door his body almost seemed to freeze, his having to gulp down his fear and mentally repeat, *It's just people in costumes. It is just people in costumes*.
Putting on a brave face he looked down at you with a gorgeous half smile set on his lips as he spoke, "You ready, ________?"
"I think the real question is 'are you ready?" You ridiculed, sending him a cheeky wink when his eyes widened at your boastfulness. His hand unconsciously gripped yours tighter, you having to be the first one to walk through the door into the pitch black room, a thick cloud of stale air filling your lungs as you inhaled.
The floorboards creaked as you cautiously walked forwards, tapping the toe of your converse against the creaky wooden floorboards ensuring the ground ahead was flat, having stumbled up many unexpected step and bumps in past visits to haunted houses.
As you and Luhan passed from room the room the scenery changed each time, going from a witches shack with a grotesque looking witch storing a steaming concoction inside a huge black cauldron, and you swore that the actor was a guy to the normal creepy looking hallway with portraits of ghastly looking people, their eyes following you and you passed them by.
Stepping through yet another door into an amazing simulated haunted forest, dark painted trees filled the huge room, plastic leaves and vines hanging down from the various branches, masking your view of the path ahead, as well as hiding anybody waiting to pounce from the darkness. If it hadn't had been so dark and eerie, this room could have been beautiful. Looking exactly like a horror film movie set, almost as if it had been directly dragged out of 'Friday the 13th'.
You felt a tug on your arm, turning around to find Luhan trailing behind you, his fingers still strongly locked between yours. So tightly it would take a crow bar to remove his sweaty hand from yours. And you swore he was gripping it so tight the was managing to slow your circulation.
"Babe," Luhan muttered, his voice shaky, fear evident in his frightened tone. "How much longer will we be in.. HARGH!" You jumped out of your skin at Luhan's girly scream, him rushing forwards and tagging on your arm so harshly you spun around and spotted an actor dressed in a brilliant and rather convincing werewolf costume. A mask pulled over his face, long false bloody talons glued to his nails and tufts of brown matted fur sprouting up out of the rips in his dirty midnight blue top.
Still being towed backwards by your boyfriend you gave the actor and thumbs up and yelled, "love the costume!" with a genuine smile, hearing the man laugh happily at your un-phased reaction. Slamming through into another room Luhan, believing he was safe, stopped sprinting and let your hand go, bending over, his hands on his knees as he inhaled deep raspy breaths. "Not scared, huh?" you harassed, catching your breaths past your giggles.
"He just took me by surprise, that's all," Luhan sneered, using his words to try and help convince himself.
"Oh really," you snickered, looking over Luhan's shoulder as he stared down at you. "Then what are you gonna do about them?" Luhan slowly turned to follow your pointed shoulder, his eyes widening and a startled gasp escaping past his lips when he spotted the four zombies slowly skulking towards you both. You were in the graveyard room, tombstones sticking up out of false dead grass, thick fog covering your feet, and iron fences surrounding the bigger graves, cobwebs swinging from the metal bars.
Luhan hopped a little and scampered to hide behind you, his arms quickly wrapping around your waist and his face burying in the nape of your neck. The actors gave you an amused look and you had to force yourself to not run and leave him there with them, just to see his fearful reaction.
But at the sounding of his next words, all you could down was grasp his hands wrapped around your waist. "Don't let the scary men get me, baby."
