"Babe?" Chanyeol muttered as he halted in his tracks, looking down at his feet, kicking at a small pebble on the pavement nervously. With your fingers still laced with Chanyeol's you stopped when his arm wouldn't allow you any further and turned around with a worried expression.

"Chanyeol?" You took some steps closer, trying to angle your head so you could look through his fringe at his eyes, which were slowly starting to fill up with a thick line of salty tears. "What is it?"

Chanyeol's breathing seemed to be off, coming in ragged and sharp. "What..." he stopped to swallow down his nerves, blinking back the tears stinging at the back of his eyes. "What if you had to tell someone the most important thing in the world, but you knew they'd never believe you?"

"I'd try," you simply answered, taking both his hands in yours.

"I've been lying to you," he admitted. "Keeping things from you that you should have been the first to find out." Chanyeol dared to look through his fringe at your face, only to regret it when he saw a single tear fall down your cheek.

"Chanyeol, please tell me you haven't cheated on me," you cried, your small hands shaking violently. Chanyeol cupped your face as his tears finally spilled out, flowing down his cheeks freely and uncontrollably.

"It's worse," Chanyeol whimpered, his shoulders starting to shake from his cries. "Baby?" he addressed you sweetly and looked deep into your eyes, his big hands cupping your small face, forcing you to glare deep into his sorrowful eyes. "I'm dying."

Your heart stopped, the ground at your feet seeming to crumble and collapse away from you. His words circulating around in your head so quickly it was starting to make you feel horrendously sick. A nervous chuckle escaped past your lips as you said, "I know you like a good prank, Chanyeol, but this it too far."

"_______, I'm not joking."

"How the hell can you be dying?!" You screamed and knocked his hands away when he tried to pull you into a hug.

"I...I..." Chanyeol just couldn't pluck up the guts to speak, his words refusing to pass around the golf ball sized lump lodged at the back of his throat. Taking several deep breath he grabbed your wrists and forced you to face him. "Jagiya, I've got leukemia. I've had it nearly two years now, but I stopped responding to the treatment I was getting."

"You're telling me this now, and while we're on holiday?!" you yelped. "Chanyeol, we've been dating five years and you didn't think I had the right to know you were dying?!"

"I couldn't keep it from you any longer, I just have so many things I want to do before I die." Chanyeol looked down at his feet, his entire body shaking from the abundance of tears working their way down to drench his shirt.

You took a deep breath and wrapped your arms around him, resting your head on his chest as he cried into your hair, pulling you as close to himself as he could. "What are you're top two things?"

"To be in two places at once," he mumbled into your hair, his tears falling down to drench the thin brown strands. "And to have a miracle."

You pulled away just enough so you could look up into his eyes. "I don't know what I can do about the miracle, but I have an idea for the first." You grabbed his hand and pulled him behind you as you ran across the unusually quiet street. It was dusk in Florida right now and there was one place you knew would help Chanyeol achieve one of his dreams.

Chanyeol felt like he had been running for hours, when in fact he had only been jogging a couple of minutes. His heart was racing and there was an intense, agonising throb emitting from right behind his eyes, and he sighed out happily when you finally stopped running and dragged him to a halt too. "Stand over here!" You ordered and pulled him over to stand in the centre of the road. "Put one foot there," you said as you pointed to a spot just to the side of his left foot. "And the the other there." You pointed to a different spot near his right foot.

"What the hell am I doing?" Chanyeol mumbled flailing his arms up into the air above his head. "I feel like an idiot."

You chuckled at his cute pout and shook your head. "You're straddling the state line," you informed him. Chanyeol looked down at the gap between his feet and tilted his head to the side slightly. "You're in two places at once," you spoke happily holding your arms out to the side of you.

Chanyeol looked up at you with tears of joy brimming in his dark eyes. Before you had chance to say another word, Chanyeol had ran towards you, water following down from his eyes, and his arms wrapped around your waist, lifting you up and spinning you around a few times before setting you back on your feet and crashing his lips to yours.

He held you close, closer than he ever had before, his arms strong around you, his head resting on the top of yours. You let your head snuggle into his chest, inhaling his intoxicating scent. You heard his heart rate quicken, it getting quicker and quicker, and when Chanyeol's arms started to slacken and his weight suddenly fell onto you, your heart shot up to nest in your mouth.

"Chanyeol?" you spoke as his body started to shake, his arms and legs jerking out and twitching. "Chanyeol?" You called his name again as you lay him down on the tarmac, glaring down at his shuddering figure. "Chanyeol?!" you screamed and pulled against him, rolling him over to pin him down in the recovery position. You dug your hand into his pocket and fished out his mobile. "Baby, stay with me!" you begged him.

Stabbing your finger against the mobile you dialed the emergency number and held it to your ear "Emergency, what service do you require?" A middle aged sounding lady spoke to your though the speaker.

"An ambulance! It's my boyfriend, he's... he's... I don't know what he's doing! He's shaking!" At that moment Chanyeol started to choke, vomit spluttering out from the side of his mouth. "He's just been sick, please help!"

"Has he got any illnesses, bad medical history?" you were amazed at how calm the woman sounded.

"He's had leukemia nearly two years!" You used your free hand to ensure that Chanyeol didn't roll over onto his back, forcing his cheek directly into the road. "We're at the Florida, Georgia state line, please be quick! I can't lose him!"

The woman told you everything was going to be okay and that she would have help with you as soon as possible. But you were skeptical, even though Chanyeol had finally stopped shaking and was lying on the floor still, his breathing was weak and pathetic, his eyes heavy and hooded. "Baby, everything will be okay," you spoke to him quietly once the ambulance arrived behind you and the paramedics started to ease him onto the gurney. "Help is here now."

Due to Chayeol's horrific state you were refused entrance to the ambulance, but thankfully, the hospital had thought ahead and hired a taxi to follow in the parted stream the blaring sirens caused.

Pacing back and forth outside his hospital bedroom was the most agonising moment of your life, and as soon as you were granted access you barged through the single wooden door like a rhino, knocking several sheets of paper out of a nurses hands. "Chanyeol?" you whispered shakily past your fresh rivers of tears.

"Hey," your boyfriend spoke softly, his voice frail and shattered. Dropping into the chair at his bedside you let your head fall against his chest, listening to the beautiful sound of his heart beat, as weak as it was you were thankful it was still thumping life through his body.

"I'm so sorry," you muttered against his hospital gown. Chanyeol's hand moved to cup your cheek, forcing you to look up into his sunken eyes. It was now, looking at him at such close range you noticed the sickly grey shade to his skin, the dark circles under his eyes and the cracked flakes across his lips. But even through all this, Chanyeol's eyes still managed to maintain their usual sparkling glow.

"You have nothing to be sorry for, my angel," he mumbled as he wiped away one of your tears with his thumb.

You closed your eyes and leaned into his hand, melting into the feeling of his skin against yours. "You never got your miracle."

"Yes I did," he spoke softly to you, using his hands to guide your face up to his and place a long loving, tender kiss against yours tear soaked lips. "You were my miracle"
