50. Today and Forever (Xiumin)

"You doing anything today, sweetie?" Your mother asked as she scooped a pancake out of the frying pan on the stove and set it on a plate before sliding it across the breakfast bar towards you.

Your face sank and so did your heart, today was possibly one of the worst days in your opinion. Valentines Day. You had never been the lovey dovey kind of girl. In fact the thought of a boy sending you bouquets of flowers and boxes of chocolates made you feel a little sick. But recently, all that had started to change when you fell in love with the boy next door.

Your mother was looking at you with a concerned expression, she hadn't failed to notice your depressing lack of a love life. You realised you hadn't answered your mum, and had been glaring down at the love heart shaped pancake for nearly five minutes now. "I don't feel like doing anything."

"What about the lad next door, he's handsome." Your mum started to scratch the back of her head. "Ooh, whats his name!" Your mum clicked her fingers repeatedly, as if the sound would somehow jog her memory.

"Minseok," you answered for her.

"Yes! He's a lovely lad, why don't you go round and ask him if he wants to hang out."

"Mum, I'm 18, I don't 'hang out' anymore." You pushed the plate away and stood up off the breakfast bar stood. "I'm not hungry." You dragged your feet all through the house into the hallway, walking past the front door to head up the stairs.

When you were about halfway up the letterbox behind you sounded and when you turned you saw a clustering of different coloured envelopes. Huffing sadly, you walked back down and scooped them up and stared down in confusion at your name written across the front of four individual envelopes. You flipped each one over and realised that they all had a separate number scribbled on the back. 1,2,3 and 4.

Furrowing your eyebrows you walked up the stairs and into your bedroom, dropping down on to your bed, opening up the envelope with the number 1 on it.

"I've fallen in love with you and I'll never let you go," you read aloud to yourself. Opening the second the poem continued. "I love you more than anyone, I just had to let you know." You set the two valentine style postcards aside and opened up the third. "And if you ever wonder why, I don't know what I'll say." And finally the fourth. "But I'll never stop loving you, each and every day."

Your heart was fluttering like crazy, your stomach flipping at the thought of somebody putting in the effort to write a poem as cute as this. Your heart jumped when you heard a faint scratching noise. Standing up slowly, you walked over towards your bedroom patio doors that lead out onto your own personal balcony. Pulling the curtain back slowly you gasped when you saw Xiumin stood on the other side, a set of beautiful, delicate looking flowers and a box of chocolates.

Realising he must have been freezing you quickly unlocked the door and let him walk in before shutting it again. "Minseok, what where you doing out there?" You knew he would have climbed up the wooden ivy frame attached to the side of your house, but you were still confused to why he had done that and not used the front door like any normal person. But he just smiled at you. "And what are they for?" You asked and nodded towards the flowers and chocolates.

"Oh, there for you, sweetheart, I know you're not very fond of flowers and chocolates but it's the norm, and I've never done anything like this before."

You furrowed your eyebrows. "What are you trying to say?"

Xiumin put the gifts in his arms aside and took a step towards you, taking your hands in his before pressing his forehead to yours. "We've been friends for a few months now, right? Really good friends might I add. But... I want to be more than friends, ________." He took a deep breath and chuckled nervously before sighing. "________, what I'm trying to say is, will you be my valentine, for today, and forever?"
