You skipped your way down the hall way towards your closest friend, seeing his long legs poking out from his locker door, his foot tapping against the cold tiled floor quickly. Quickly slowing your steps you tiptoed up to him and hid behind the locker door, holding your arms up, wriggling your fingers as you cheekily bit down on your lip to hold a laugh, preparing yourself to jump up.

When his long, beautiful fingers held his locker door and slowly closed it you hopped up into the air, pinched his sides and screamed, "Bestie got your vestie!" As you tugged against his white vest top.

"Holy mother of..." He gasped and quickly glared down at you. "How many times have I told you?"

You smiled innocently at up at Baekhyun and batted your eyelids, but when his eyes became more intense you pouted and let your features drop to look saddened. "I'm sorry, Baekhyun," you mumbled and turned to walk away, but stopped stone dead when you felt Baekhyun's arms wrap around your waist. "You can make it up to me by driving me home," Baekhyun chuckled as his chin rested on your shoulder.

"Baek, I drive you home everyday," you snorted and reached to place your small hand over his larger one, feeling the tips of your fingertips ignite at the contact.

"True," he giggled and released you only to put a single arm around your shoulders. "Let's go."

"Baekhyun," you called as you walked down the corridor of your college, swinging your arms back and forth lively, a huge smile plastered upon your face, for last night, when you dropped Baekhyun off at home and he kissed your cheek like he always did to show his gratitude, the fluttering in your stomach, shaking of your limbs and thumping in your chest explained one thing...

You were in love with your best friend. And maybe, just maybe, after reading all those little signs, Baekhyun might just be in love with you.

You called his name again when he didn't stop walking, him seeming to be in a little bit of a hurry to get somewhere. You quickened to a jog and when within reach you wrapped your fingers around his wrist, pulling him to a stop. "Ignoring me are we?" You said jokingly.

But Baekhyun's answer didn't share the same lively and upbeat tone. "No, I heard you." His voice was cold and sharp, cracking in places as he tries to speak his words. "I need to be somewhere, so I'll see you tomorrow."

And with that, he was gone, returning to his fast pace down the hallway and around the corner. You noticed the sickly grey tint to his normally immaculate skin. The whites of his eyes slightly bloodshot as tears seemed to form but not spill.

"What is wrong with him."

Your day to day routine began to start feeling like a broken record. Wake up, go to pick Baekhyun up and realise he isn't home... Again. Spend all day at college with an empty seat at your side wondering where he was, and then finding him by his locker everyday at the same time, him refusing to take your offer of driving him home before quickly storming off in the same direction.

You were getting a little worried, and that day, to save on petrol you decided to walk to college, the cool morning air clearing your head of all ill thoughts for your best friend. With everyday his skin grew greyer, more red vessels stretched through the whites of his eyes and his once soft as butter lips were not cracked and peeling like the bark of an ancient tree.

Today was a little different to those other days, when you made your daily walk past his locker at 4:15 to try and glimpse to what he was hiding within that metal cage of his, but today, unlike usual he wasn't there.

So, with a sunken heart you proceeded to walk home, opting for the long way around only knowing that going your usual way would lead you past Baekhyun's house and it would only make those tears that had been welling for weeks finally spill over.

You traced your finger tips over the cold metal railing as you passed over the bride that hovered over the old storage dock, dozens of empty shipping crates piling up below you. Small droplets of water started to disperse from the giant jet black cloud hovering over your head, looking up a droplet splashed against the bridge of your nose and rolled down, mimicking the path a tear would fall, and strangely, the cold sensation against your cheek helped. Not by much, but it was still something.

Peering out over the railing you spotted a silver car very badly hidden behind one of the line crates just below your feet. "Disgusting," you muttered to yourself as you spotted the two silhouettes through the window screen grasp at each other's faces. "Some people have no self respect." Picking up a small stone, no bigger than the nail on your thumb, you leaned over the edge slightly and relaxed your fingers, letting the stone fall from your grip and dart down to bang against the cars bonnet, hoping it would warn them that they weren't as well hidden as they thought.

"Shit," you gasped when the small rock made a scratch in the silver paint work, obviously the five meter drop was just enough to make that tiny, seemingly harmless stone make enough damage to the cars paint job that it looked like a brick had been dropped.

The right hand side door opened and a figure popped out, long flowing brown hair, her bangs cut into a full fringe and you recognised her as one of the girls from the class two years above yours. Her face was sharp and she moved to examine the damage to her car, gasping as she stroked her fingers across the paint. "Who the..." She growled and turned, looking up and locking her thin angry eyes with your wide shocked ones. "You little bitch! You are gonna pay for my new paint job, now get down here before I come up there and drag-"

"Taeyeon, stop," a deep voice said as the passenger side door owned and a tall figure with jet black hair popped out and walked over to the girl. "Brats like that aren't worth it." Her boyfriends voice was the opposite of hers, soft and somewhat sympathetic, but not towards her, but sympathetic to you, obviously knowing how his girlfriend over reacts. "You should apologise to-" the boy started to say as he looked up to the railing where your were glued, feeling that if your gripped the metal any harder your fingers would sink into it and snap the material.

Stood below you with a sickly grey face and eyes wider than you ever thought was possible, was Baekhyun.

"______," he gasped and the girl gave him a sharp glare.

"You know this prat?!" She hissed and Baekhyun jumped back a little, moving himself out of arms, well, claws reach.

"Y-yes, she's my be- err, she's in my class," Baekhyun's voice seemed frail and shaky, almost as if he was terrified of this small, frail looking woman.

"Good, then you can slap her for me tomorrow. Now get in the car because we..." She said with a dark smirk as she tugged at his collar. "Are going back to mine."

Without you even realising, tears had been streaming down your face, your eyes stinging from the abundance of salty droplets running from your waterline. The girl got in the car and Baekhyun stayed glued, him looking up at you with a white face. "______," he said your name so gently and lovingly it made you cry harder, the tears that dropped down onto your hands seemed to be enough to loosen your grip on the railing. "Let me explain!" He called up and reach his hand towards you, almost as if his arm would stretch out and grapple your wrists.

"What I've seen is explanation enough!" You screamed, voice cracking as your tone fought against itself, unable to decide if it should sound sorrowful or furious. But at that moment all you wanted to do was run as far away as you could, far enough away so you couldn't hear him crying your name.
