The rain poured down from the thick covering of angry black storm clouds, thunder rumbling across the skies as bright, radiant flashes of lighting zipped throughout the blanket of grey fluff.

You glared up at the sky from the safety of your office lobby before sending an angry expression down at your broken umbrella. "Brilliant," you stifled under your voice. Taking a deep breath, you pulled the collar of your blazer up over the back of your head, it lifting off your shoulders and exposing the small of your back, the cold rain droplets soaking the thin material of your office dress, soaking right through to your underwear.

You ran as quickly as you could manage in your 4 inch high black Jimmy Choo stilettos towards the curb, waving your hand through the air, small handbag swinging on your elbow. A yellow taxi parked up at the side the road a few feet away, you stumbling to get into the back and out of the rain.

"Oh," you gasped when you came face to face with a handsome stranger, both of you pulling your doors shut simultaneously. "Excuse me," you started as you looked into each other's rain splattered faces with shock. "This is my cab."

The handsome man, pulled a face, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked at you with a strange look. "What, you own it?" He snickered, somewhat sarcastically.

"Ha, no!" You replied in a sharp tone. "But I'm going to rent it."

He turned his body to face you a little, his arms flailing about slightly as he argues his case. "If you see someone hail a cab, you can't just hop inside and say its yours."

"What?!" You spoke in a slightly raised pitch. " I didn't see you!"

"Yes, you did."

You groaned and shuffled forwards on your seat, tapping your finger against the plastic separating you and the driver. "Sir, excuse me," you addressed and the driver turned his head to look at you. "Which of us saw you first?" You looked at him with big pleading eyes, hoping he'd take your side, but he didn't say a word, he just snickered and proceeded to scroll through his phone.

You just slumped back into the seat and rolled your eyes when the stranger started to rant on again. "I don't know if you know this, but there is certain etiquette when it comes to hailing a-"

"You know what, I'll just get out," you said in a cold tone, pulling the handle. "Not because you're right, because I'm in a good mood and I don't want you to ruin it." You then stepped out into the rain as the stranger opened his door, huffing a, "No, I will."

When you saw his face over the top of the cab you pulled a face that said 'what the hell are you doing?' The cab then proceeded to drive away, leaving you both stranded in the cold rain. "Now what?" You muttered to yourself.

"How's the good mood holding up?" The stranger chuckled and you gave him a stern look before grunting and walking off towards the train station, holding your small bag over your head.

"Hey," the guy called out and proceeded to skip after you. "I didn't get your name."

You smiled secretly to yourself as you continued to walk, hearing his heavier foot steps following close behind. "I didn't give it to you."

"Fancy going out sometime?" You didn't reply, just smiled and continued to walk towards the subway. "Is that a yes?"

"No," you chuckled."

"Then was that a no?"

"No." You smiled wider to yourself as you turned a corner, stopping when the stranger ran round to stand in your path.

"How about I meet you at the Italian near the city mall this Saturday?" You just smiled shyly and shrugged your shoulders. The man chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at the floor. "How about some good luck?" He mumbled in a soft tone, nodding down towards your feet, a dull copper penny sat on the concrete just before your toes.

You chuckled and shook your head when you noticed the penny was on tails. "It's only good luck if it's heads up." You bent down and turned the penny round before standing back up. "Now you can have some good luck." You walked around him as he bent to pick the penny up, quickly spinning to call after you, "I'll see you Saturday then!"
