"Sorry," an elderly lady apologised as she accidentally stumbled over your suitcase and fell into you.
You looked in her direction hearing the sincere and caring tone of her voice. Smiling, you accepted her apology and used your foot you scoot your bag closer to the wall you were stood by.
You primed your ears, listening to all the small noises surrounding you, letting your eyes skim around but never focusing on anything.
You were lost, very lost. You had just gotten off the train after travelling from the airport. You had just moved to Seoul from Vancouver in the beautiful country of Canada.
Everything suddenly became louder, a large bundle of deep, husky voices and a shuffle of feet coming from around the corner. Taking a deep breath you took a step forwards and held up your hand, "excuse me," you waved to get a passers by attention.
A young lad walking by with his arm linked through a girls looked at you with a snide smirk but stopped anyway. The girl had what appears to be several bottles of orange toned foundation smoothed onto her pimply skin, the polar opposite to you. You had a thin layer of Étude House BB cream to cover you flawless milky skin.
"Do you mind telling me where the exit is?" You asked him, all a while the deep voices in the distance becoming louder.
The boy snickered and glared at you as if you had just threw up on his trainers. "Look at the signs," he muttered.
"Come on, Jake," the girl complained and tugged against his arm.
You looked around pointlessly before looking back in his direction. "I don't see any signs," you said in a blunt tone, getting sick of dealing with arse holes like this.
"What are you, blind?" The lad named Jake cackled and his laugh stung at your heart. Clenching your jaw squeezing your eyes shit you taught desperately to now let the tears flow down your cheeks.
"Thanks for your help," you grumbled sarcastically and bent your knees slightly to wrap your slender fingers round the handle of your suitcase.
Just at that moment, a group of lads walked round the corner, the one in the centre halting when his eyes lay upon you, his breath catching in his through and thoughts like "wow, she's beautiful" rushing through his hazy mind.
As you stepped forwards, you swung a long metal pole from its hiding place behind you and stumbled forwards, using the end to tap away at the unfamiliar ground.
The thing was, you actually were blind, had been for two years now since your laser eye surgery went horrible wrong and caused your eyes to just stop functioning. Ever since that moment when you woke up in a hospital bed, seeing nothing but darkness, you had been scared. Terrified of every little scratch or whistle of the wind.
A tear rolled it's way down your cheek as you cautiously stepped forwards.
One of the lads from the group scowled at Jake, his dark eyes scary with intensity. "What a cock," he mumbled under his breath as he pushed past him and his girlfriend and charged after you, ignoring his friends when they called after him.
"Tao! What are you doing? Were gonna be late for our interview!"
Tao continued to jog after you. "Excuse me?" He yelled and skidded round to stand in front of you, you apologising when you crashed into his chest, not knowing he was there.
"Would you like help?" He offered kindly but you shook him off with one snide comment.
"No, I've had enough help thank you." You tried to barge past him but since you were working blind you completely missed him and tripped over your own feet.
Tao scooped his arm around your waist quickly and hoisted you back up to your feet. "Careful," he chuckled and you couldn't help the butterflies that exploded in your stomach at the beautiful sound of his laugh. "You could get hurt. Now tell me, where are you heading and I will help?"
"I'm supposed to meet my older brother at the SM building, but I don't know where that is."
Tao beamed, that's where I am heading to meet the rest of my group, I will take you." Taking your suitcase from you, Tao linked your arms through his and turned you to pull you back the way you came. "So, what's your older brothers name?"
Smiling at this strangers kindness you simply answered with, " He's called Wu Yifan."
"Well hello," Tao beamed brightly, his eyes glossing over your face, noticing the small resemblances you shared with your older brother. "It's lovely to meet you!" His was was soft and full of truth. "My name is Tao, and I'll take care of you."
