"Are you sure about this?" You questioned, creasing your forehead as you watched your boyfriend rummage around in a large box at the side of the studio, unsure what he was planning to make you do.
"Of course I'm sure," he answered as he straightened his back, pulling a set on nunchucks out from the box, effortlessly swinging them around his upper body with grace and speed, the weapon becoming a black blur as he twirled it around.
"Tao, how is this going to help me travel home from class?" You asked, eyeing up the nunchuck wearingly when he handed it to you, quickly returned to grab one for himself.
"A pretty girl like you needs to know how to defend herself." Tao's smile was sweet and loving, the corners of his eyes creasing as his cheeks plumped up.
You chuckled and nervously played with the weapon, lazily twiddling it about in a small circle, it dangling from your loose grip. "Sweetheart, I understand your concerned about my safety but teaching me wushu really is not necessary."
Tao just shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to start performing complicated twists and flicks with the nunchucks, wrapping them around his back and graving it with his opposite hand, you huffing at his flashy moves.
"Argh," Tao squeaked girlishly when the nunchuck slipped from his grip as he flung it over his shoulder, the end clipping against the side of his head.
"Oh Tao!" You gasped and dropped your weapon, rushing to his side and cupping his cheeks, tilting his head to examine the purple bruise forming on his cheek bone. "It isn't me that needs constant protection," you laughed and placed a gentle kiss against the sore spot. "I think we should just wrap you in bubble wrap."
Tao huffed a laugh and smiled at you, wrapping his strong arms around your waist, shocking you with a brisk turn and dipping you down towards the floor, holding you just inches from the wooden flooring. "I don't think so," he whispered and pressed his lips to yours. "It is my job to protect you. If anything you should be the one constantly
