Your eyebrows furrowed as you leaned over Kris' broad shoulder, intently watching the way his fingers move the black ball point across his line sheet of paper. "Okay," he said in his deep husky voice. "Translate this for me."

You squinted your eyes, reached forwards to twist the paper to face you. You didn't know what it said, hell, you didn't even know if it was Chinese. You attempted it anyway, eyeing up Kris in the corner of your eye as he nodded his head along with you, his forehead creased as he strained to understand your poorly spoken Mandarin. "How was that?" you asked nervously looking up at Kris, biting down on your bottom lip anxiously.

Kris hesitated, trying to think of an answer that wouldn't hurt your feeling too much. "Well..." he strung out the word, looking down into your hopeful eyes. "It was...okay."

Your face sunk into a frown, the spark in your eyes filling and draining away. "It isn't my fault I'm not Chinese," you scoffed and slapped the paper away, crossing your arms across your chest.

Kris shuffled closer, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulled your close to his side, letting you rest your head on his shoulder. "Why did you want to learn Chinese anyway?" He asked you after placing a gentle kiss on your head.

"So I could speak it with you," you answered, letting your head hang low.

"Baby," Kris chuckled and pulled you even closer, worming his second arm around your waist and button his face in your soft, vanilla scented hair. "There is only one thing you need to know in Chinese and you can already say it."

"Wo ai ni?" You said, it almost sounding like a question as you looked up deep into Kris' eyes.

Kris' smile and gentle kiss to the lips was the only answer you needed. "and I love you too."
