We woke up the next morning and immediately got ready to go out and explore the world. Today we were going to go shopping in the town for a while before going to swim with the turtles.
I was starting to get just a little homesick so I called Ki while Colby was in the shower. "Hey, V!" Ki exclaimed as I laughed. "Hey! I just wanted to call because I miss your sarcastic ass." I said and sat on the bed.
"Are you having fun?" She asked as a big smile formed on my face. "Yeah! Oh my god, it's beautiful here." I said as I looked out the window. "You better be taking pictures." Ki said as I laughed.
"This is my first time even turning my phone on, I think Colby is taking pictures though." I said and looked out the window.
I was so glad that I was unplugging for this trip because I've been the happiest I've been in a while.
"Oh, good. Maybe don't go online." Ki said as I scrunched my brow. "Why? Is there something going on?" I asked nervously as I chewed my lip
"I just think you should enjoy your honeymoon. Social media is so lame and annoying, having sex with your husband in the middle of a tropical place is not." She said as I laughed.
"I guess you're right." I said with a sigh as Colby came into the room. "I was thinking we could get some lunch when we went into town. Does that sound good?" He asked as I nodded and stood up "Yeah! Okay...I'll be ready in a few minutes." I said and grabbed my shoes then sighed. "I gotta go, Ki. I miss you though." I said as she breathed a laugh.
"I miss your crazy ass, too. Have fun! I'll talk to you later." She said then hung up. I sighed then looked down at my phone, feeling tempted to check social media.
Part of me wanted to be suspicious about Ki telling me to be off of social media but the other part of me knew that I seriously did want to unplug for this trip. I shook my head then turned my phone off then put my shoes on.
"Ready to go?" I asked as Colby walked into the room. He was looking at his phone, reading something. "Everything okay?" I asked as he looked up and nodded. "Yeah, Sam just texted me. I'm ready if you are." He said with a smile as he locked his phone and put it in his backpack.
"What are we getting for lunch?" I asked as we held hands and walked towards the town that was next to our resort. "Honestly I want more of that teriyaki chicken you got the other day." He said as I nodded.
"Ooooo that shit was good. Can we get more of those smoothies too?" I asked as we walked down the road. "Yeah, we can get them on the way back from swimming with turtles." He said as I nodded.
"I can't believe we get to swim with the turtles!" I exclaimed as I bounced up and down as we walked to one of food stands that was in town. "It's gonna be so fun. I love turtles." Colby said, imitating that one vine.
"You're so cute." I said then squished his face with my hand. We then ordered our food and started walking to the shops.
"Ooooo I kinda want to get one of these." I said and held up a little white bracelet. "We should get matching bracelets." He said with a laugh. "You'd wear a matching bracelet with me?" I asked and pouted my lip. "Yeah, I already have a matching ring." He said and held up his left hand.
"Hmm. Guess you're right." I said then grabbed two the bracelets and went to go pay. "Here ya go." I said then handed him the bracelet. "Thank you." He said with a grin then took it and put it on his wrist.
We walked around for a little while before we made our way to the beach so we could swim with the turtles. I noticed that Colby was checking his phone a little more often than he has been the past few days.
