A couple of weeks have passed since we found out we were having a little girl. Things have been a little hectic but I just assumed that's just how it was going to be until the baby came.

"Are you sure you'll be okay with me going?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yep, I'm sure." I said with a smile as he finished packing his bag. "Are you gonna be okay? I know you guys haven't really traveled since the robbery." I said and turned to him.

"I think we'll be okay. We're just going to Vegas, so we won't be too far away." He explained as I nodded. "Yeah, that makes me feel a little better about it." I said with a smile.

Sam and Colby were going out of town for couple of days. They were going on their annual boy's trip with their childhood friends, Nate and Alex. It made me so happy that they were still close after all these years.

Colby was a little hesitant to leave me because he was going to miss a doctors appointment, but I assured him I would be okay and probably bring someone along with me.

I was a little bummed out that he was going to miss the appointment but they weren't super eventful so I didn't have the heart to make Colby come back just for that.

I was officially halfway through my pregnancy though which was crazy to me. We had so much to do before she came. Xepher and Devyn were coming over tonight to help me start with the nursery.

We had to paint the walls and put together some of the furniture that had come in before I could decorate.

We decided to do a theme of baby animals and we were going to paint some trees and a starry sky. I couldn't really picture it but Xepher really had a vision which I thought was cute.

"You're gonna miss your flight." I said as he come over to me and put his hands on my hips. "I have time." He said then lowered his lips to mine and gave me a gentle kiss.

I smiled against his lips then pulled away. "Call me when you can, but have fun." I said with a smile as he nodded me crouched down to be eye level with my belly.

"Be good for mommy." He said then kissed my belly. "You're cute." I said as he stood up straight and kissed me again.

"Yep, and so are you." He said then winked and turned towards his bag. "What time are the girls coming?" Colby asked as we started making our way downstairs.

"They should be here any minute honestly." I said as we walked down the stairs. "Good, you have to send me pictures of the progress." He said and grabbed his keys.

"Only if you send me pictures of your adventures." I said as he nodded. "I will. I love you, V. Don't hesitate to call." He said as I nodded. "I love you, too. Be safe please." I said then gave him one more kiss before he turned towards the front door.

"I will. I'll see you in a couple days." He said with a smile then walked out of the house. "Guess it's just you and me, kid." I said then rubbed my belly and turned towards the kitchen to make a snack.

By the time I was done making my snack, Devyn and Xepher were here. I was so happy that they were coming over to help me with the nursery. I was excited that they wanted to be a part of this because it showed that they cared about Me, Colby, and our daughter.

"Hey, V!" Devyn said as I opened the door to let them in. "Hey, guys! Thanks for coming over." I said with a smile. "No problem, I'm so excited to get started." Xepher said as we went upstairs to the now empty office that was going to be the nursery.

"Yeah, I'm glad you have a vision because I simply do not." I said with a laugh then walked over to the boxes that were on the floor. I was going to try and put the changing table and crib together while Xepher and Devyn started on the walls.

"I think you're really gonna like what I have planned." Xepher said with a laugh as she unpacked her art supplies. "I'm excited!" I said with a smile then got to work on unpacking the parts for the crib.

We spent the next couple hours working on our specific projects. I was focusing so hard on trying to figure out how to build the crib that I didn't even notice that Devyn was trying to talk to me.

"Violet." Devyn said as I looked up. "Huh?" I asked as she giggled. "I just asked if you had a name picked out." She said as I nodded and smiled. "Nova." I said as she smiled. "That's such cute name! Why Nova?" She asked as I looked down and started working on the crib again.

"Colby and I have always loved stargazing and a nova is a new star in the sky. It shines brighter than any other star." I said with a smile. "That's so fucking cute." Xepher said as I chuckled. "Thank you. I'm just glad Colby let me pick out the name." I said as Devyn nodded.

"He would have picked something basic." Xepher said with a laugh. "I mean he suggested Sophie which I thought was cute." I said as Devyn shook her head. "I like Nova better." She said as I nodded. "I do too." I said with a smile.

We spent the next couple hours working on getting things ready. I was able to build the changing table completely but gave up on the crib. Colby and I would have to finish it later.

Xepher and Devyn were able to get most of the pencil work done on the walls. They had drawn little woodland animals like squirrels and bears, along with a couple of trees. Devyn traced Nova's name on the wall that would be above the crib which I thought was cute.

"Are those supposed to be the northern lights?" I asked and pointed to the opposite wall. "Yeah, I thought they would be cute." Xepher said as I smiled widely. "They are. Oh, I'm so excited to start painting! I probably won't be working on it for a while though. I'm exhausted." I said as we packed up the art supplies.

"Did you want help with the painting?" Xepher asked as I nodded. "Probably eventually. I can only paint small sections at a time so I'm not inhaling fumes for too long." I explained as she nodded. "Just let me know, I'll come over and help." She said as I smiled and nodded.

"Will do. Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it." I said as we made our way downstairs. "It's no problem. I'm so excited for her to be here. You're gonna have the cutest kid." Devyn said as I nodded.

"She really is gonna be the cutest. I can't wait to meet her." I said and rubbed my belly. "How far along are you again?" Devyn asked as we made our way to the front door. "20 weeks, so I'm halfway there." I said with a smile. "It's flying by, what the hell." Devyn said as I nodded. "I know right. It's crazy." I said then looked down at my belly.

It felt like just yesterday I was taking 5 pregnancy test in one day, because stressed out about the idea of being pregnant. I felt like this pregnancy was going too fast, but not fast enough. I wanted to savor these moments but I was also so excited to meet Nova.

I was just going to have to live in the moment.

Xepher and Devyn ended up going home, leaving me alone once again. I surprisingly okay with being alone, which was mildly out of character for me. Everything has just been so hectic lately that it felt good to be able to unwind and relax by myself.

I knew I was going to spend most of the next couple of days cooking so I decided to order some Chinese food and settle into the living room. I wanted to just be able to relax because my legs and back were really starting to hurt.

I knew that pregnancy was beautiful but it was also really painful and stressful. I didn't like talking about that part of pregnancy because I never wanted to seem ungrateful. I knew that there were people out there that had a hard time getting pregnant and had a worse time being pregnant.

I never wanted to take anything for granted because things could change so fast. I was lucky that Nova and I haven't really had any complications so far but I knew the second half of this pregnancy was going to be rough.

It was going to be worth it though.
