The next couple days were pretty eventful. We were trying to get things together for our trip. Colby's parents were able to get off of work to be able to watch the girls which I was grateful for because Ki was going back home with Shawn and Kat was coming with Sam, Colby, and I.
Colby's parents flew in this morning and we were getting them situated before we had to leave to get Sam and Kat soon.
"I've been pumping as much as humanly possible so there's a huge stock pile of milk in the freezer." I said as Colby loaded the car with our bags. "Nova never ended up catching Luna's cold but it can happen at any moment. I know you know how to handle that so I guess I'll just shut up." I said as Colby's mom laughed.
"You're a mom. I'd be concerned if you didn't tell me every little detail of the girls' schedules." She said as I nodded. "I'm just a little worried." I admitted as I looked down at Luna, rocking her gently.
"I know, sweetheart. I promise we will FaceTime every night. We're just gonna have some fun." She said and rocked Nova, causing her to giggle. "Thanks for doing this." I said and smiled at her.
"Anytime you need us, we'll try to be here." She said quietly as Colby and his dad came into the room. "Alright, I think it's time." Colby said as I frowned. "Okay....Bye my little bug." I said then hugged Luna, kissing her head.
"Mommy loves you. Please don't forget that." I said and scratched her back. I held her for a little while, rocking her back and forth before I passed her off to Colby and grabbed Nova from him.
"Hi, my sweetheart. I'm gonna miss you." I whispered as I rocked Nova back and forth. "I love you so much, please be good for grandma and grandpa." I said then looked at Colby. He was kissing Luna's head as he looked at me.
"We'll be back before you know it, V." He said as I nodded. "Yeah....We should go before we miss our flight." I said then then looked at Colby's parents. "Call if you have any questions." I said as we handed the babies off to them.
"We will. Have fun and be safe." Colby's dad said as I nodded and looked at Colby. "Ready?" I asked as he nodded. "Let's go." He said then turned to leave the house. I followed him, feeling the sadness starting to creep in.
When we got to the car my eyes were watering from the intense emotion that was coursing through my veins.
"It's gonna be okay, V." Colby said quietly as I sniffled and nodded. "I know, I'm just emotional." I said with a watery laugh as I wiped my eyes.
We silently drove to Sam and Kat's place so we could pick them up on the way to airport. I was glad that Kat decided to come with us so I wouldn't be lonely while the guys were filming their video.
When we got to their house Colby texted Sam telling him we were here. "Are you excited at all?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah, even if I don't get to communicate with my parents I'm still excited to visit their graves. Grams too! Maybe I can talk to grams!" I said with excitement as Sam and Kat opened the trunk.
"Hey, guys!" Sam said as we turned to look at them. "Hey." I said with a smile as I waved. "Are you guys excited to get your Ohio on?!" Sam asked as they got in the car. "Oh, we're so excited." Colby said with a laugh as I looked at Kat.
"Can we get drunk in the hotel room while they're running around with ghosts?" I asked as she nodded. "Yeah, we can get drunk and eat cake." She said as I nodded. "Hell yeah." I said as Colby started driving us to the airport.
We drove to the airport then went inside. We got through security with no problems and got to our gate just in time.
The flight itself was really boring and felt like it lasted forever. I was really glad that we didn't bring the girls on this flight because they most definitely would have melted down the entire time.
I was relieved when we landed because I was simply over being on the plane. "Thank goooood." I groaned as Colby looked over at me. "It wasn't that bad." He said with a laugh as I shrugged. "No, I guess I'm just cranky because I'm hungry." I said as we stood up to get off the plane.
"Oh shit. Sam! We have to get Violet food or she's gonna kill us." Colby said as I laughed. "Stop it!" I said and smacked his arm. "See! We have to hurry." He said dramatically as I rolled my eyes playfully.
When we got off the plane we made our way to baggage claim. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Colby said as I nodded. "I'll get your bag." I said as he kissed my cheek and jogged away. "Where's he going?" Kat asked as we continued walking to baggage claim.
"To the bathroom." I explained as we waited around for the bags to come. "Are we going to get food somewhere?" Sam asked as I nodded. "Can we please?" I asked as he nodded. "Do you have any suggestions as to where we could go?" He asked as I sighed.
"The only place I would want to go we can't go to because my ex boyfriend works there and Colby gets all weird." I said as Sam chuckled. "He acts like you two aren't married with children." He said as I laughed.
"That's what I said! I'm not gonna leave him for my ex boyfriend." I said as Kat shook her head. "Men are weird." She said as Colby came back. In his hand was a bag of chips and a water bottle.
"Here, baby." He said then handed me the bag of chips. "Wow, what a guy." Kat said as I grinned and took the chips. "THIS is why I'm not going to go back to my ex boyfriend." I said then opened the chips.
"What are you talking about?" Colby asked as I shook my head. "Don't worry about it, babe." I said then kissed his cheek.
We grabbed out bags then made our way to the rental car place. "I'm gonna call your parents." I said as we waited for Sam to get the car. "Okay." Colby said as I pulled out my phone. "Hello?" Colby's mom answered after a couple rings.
"Hey! We just landed. How are they doing?" I asked and ran my fingers through my hair. "They're good! They just woke up from their nap and we're now having tummy time." She explained as I smiled. "That's good. I hope they stay that way." I said as we made our way to the car that Sam pulled up.
"Don't worry too much, sweetie. They're doing great. Just try to enjoy your time." She said as I nodded. "I will. Thank you again." I said quietly as we loaded the car. "You're welcome, hon. I'll talk to you later." She said as I smiled. "I'll talk to you later." I said then hung up.
"How are they doing?" Colby asked as we got in the car. "They're good. Your parents are great." I said with a smile. "Yeah, they're pretty great." He said then smiled at me. "Where are we getting food?" Kat asked as she bounced in her seat next to me.
"I'd honestly be okay with just getting McDonalds or something and going to the hotel."Sam suggested as I nodded. "I vote that." I said as Sam pulled out his phone. "Sounds perfect." Colby said as Sam looked up the nearest McDonalds.
We grabbed food then made our way to our hotel. When we walked into the lobby I felt a certain sense of nostalgia hit me. Every time I came here I went to the same hotel, causing so many memories to flood through me.
We got checked into our rooms then made our way up to the floor we needed to be on. "What time should we be up in the morning?" I asked as Colby unlocked our door. "Maybe 10? We can grab some breakfast before we go to the scene." Sam said as I nodded.
"Are we filming at the scene tomorrow?" I asked quietly. "Did you want us to?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah, that should be fine. I think it will be interesting to have." I said then looked at Sam and Kat. "Okay, we'll be ready by 10." I said then grabbed my bag and waved.
When Colby and I got inside the room we set our food up on the bed then started eating. "Are you sure you want to film tomorrow?" Colby asked as I took a bite of my burger. "Yeah, I mean we've filmed my abilities before.." I said as he sighed.
"This is different though and you know it." He said as I nodded. "I know...I just feel like we should film it. Something is telling me to film it." I said quietly. "Okay, but if it gets too intense we're gonna stop. I know how important this is to you." Colby said as I nodded.
We spent the rest of the night eating and just hanging out before we went to bed. I was getting a little nervous for tomorrow but I was also excited. I felt like I was going to actually going to get to see my parents, which was both exciting but nerve-racking.
I usually wasn't too nervous about doing paranormal things and I knew that I had dreams about my parents but something about the felt different.
I just wanted it to go well.
