"Ow." I mumbled as I got out of bed. It's been another week and a half of pregnancy which meant I was in even more pain than before.
My body was seriously starting to give up on me which made me nervous because I still had at least another month of this.
I was grateful that the babies were healthy and growing nicely but I was just in a lot of pain.
It was worth it though.
I really liked being pregnant because it made me feel like I had a purpose. I was giving two little girls the nutrients they needed to grow and become tiny little humans.
It was a really beautiful thing if you really thought about it.
Today was our baby shower, which was going to be fun and exciting. Ki and Kat were really excited to plan it like they were to plan literally any party ever.
I loved how excited they were for us. It made me really happy that they wanted to be a part of our babies lives.
"Are you okay over there?" Colby asked as I slowly stood up. "Yeah. Let's just say I'm glad we won't be making it full term. 25 weeks is killing me." I said as he sighed and walked over to me.
"What's hurting right now?" He asked and put his hands on my belly. "My back and my hips. God, my hips are on fire." I said as he frowned.
"I wish there was something I could do." He said as I shrugged. "I'll live." I said with a grin then went to go get ready.
I showered and brushed my teeth then did my hair and makeup before putting on a long pink dress.
"I'm not wearing shoes." I said as Colby chuckled. "I don't blame you. Do you want a foot massage before we go?" He asked as I shook my head.
"No, they're okay right now but I might take you up on that offer later." I said with a laugh then looked at my bump. I had gotten huge in the past few weeks,
It was actually insane.
I was starting to get just a little nervous because we were 25 weeks along. With twin pregnancies it was more likely for premature birth.
We were trying to hold out until week 37 so I was just praying the girls would stay out until then. I had a feeling they were going to come earlier than that but I was hoping it wouldn't be too soon.
"Are you ready?" I asked as Colby put his shoes on. "Yeah, ready." He said then stood up and took my hand. "Let's go celebrate these girls." He said as I smirked.
"I want cake." I said as we made our way to the car. "Good news, there will be cake at the party." He said as I nodded. "I know." I said then trudged to the car.
When we got to the house I let out a sigh. "You okay?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah, I'm just tired." I said with a laugh.
"I bet. Maybe some food will liven you up." He said as I nodded. "Most definitely." I said then got out of the car.
I waited for Colby to walk around the car so we could walk to the back yard together.
"Oh my god, look at you." Ki said with a smile as she hugged me. "The gangs all here." I said and put my hands on my belly.
"You look so cute, oh my god." Kat said as she walked over. "Can you believe I'm gonna get even bigger?" I asked with a laugh.
"You're gonna explode." Ki said as one of the girls kicked my bladder. "Fuck, I gotta pee." I said then started making my way over to the bathroom.
When I walked inside Sam was in the kitchen, preparing some food. "Hey, V!" He said as I held my finger up at him.
"Hold on one second, I'm about to pee myself." I said with a laugh then ran to the bathroom. When I was done with my business I went back out to the kitchen.
"Success?" Sam asked as I laughed. "Yeah, I didn't piss on your floor." I said then hugged him. "Amazing. That would have been so sad." He said as I laughed.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm excited to eat, this looks good!" I said and grabbed one of the trays that needed to go outside with us. "Thank you, I ordered all of it on postmates." Sam said as we made our way outside.
"Classy." I said with a laugh as he opened the door for me. "I wanted you to actually be able to eat. I can't cook for shit." He said as we made our way to the tiki hut where the food was.
"I appreciate that. These girls want food all the damn time." I said with a laugh then set the food down and took a couple chicken nuggets from the tray in front of me.
"I'm just glad they are girls." He said as I laughed. "Why?" I asked and cocked my head to the side.
"Because the world doesn't need another Colby running around. That could would be climbing shit the minute he was born." Sam said with a laugh as I nodded in agreement.
"You're so right." I said as Colby and Jake came over. "Sup, V." Jake said as I grabbed a plate of food. "What's up?" I asked and gave him a hug. "Nothing, I'm starving." He said as I nodded.
"Me too, the chicken nuggets are good." I said with a wink then walked off towards the girls.
"V, you look so pretty." Devyn said as I sat down next to her. "Thank you." I said with a smile then started eating.
We sat around and ate for a while before it was time to open some presents. I was so lucky to have friends like I did because I wasn't expecting any sort of present from them.
We basically just got a bunch of diapers, clothes, and toys for the girls. I thought it was cute how excited everyone was to shop for our kids.
I was just so grateful.
When we were done opening presents we dispersed again. "Colby." I said and waved him over. "What's up?" He asked as I leaned in closer.
"Can you go get me some hot sauce?" I asked a she laughed. "For what?" He asked as I shrugged. "I wanna put it on my cake." I said as he grimaced.
"God, that's so gross." He said as I laughed. "It's your daughters doing it to me." I said as he rolled his eyes playfully. "I'll be back." He said then went towards the house.
"Did you want to cut the cake?" Ki asked as I nodded. "Yeah, Colby is going to get me hot sauce though." I said as she raised her brows at me.
"Why do you need hot sauce?" She asked as I rubbed my belly. "I want hot sauce on my cake." I said as she groaned.
"Dude, what the fuck." She said as I laughed. "Which one of them is doing that to you?" Kat asked as I shrugged.
"I think Nova likes the spicy foods and Luna likes the sweet foods. At least that's how I picture it in my head." I said with a laugh.
"I can't wait to see their personalities shine through." Kat said as I nodded. "Me too, I think Nova is gonna be more like Colby and Luna is gonna take after me." I said and looked down at my stomach.
"Why do you think that?" Cassie asked as I looked up. "Nova's always kicking my fucking bladder." I said with a laugh.
"Yep, that's an annoying ass Colby trait." Ki said as Colby came back with the hot sauce. "Are you talking shit?" Colby asked as Ki nodded.
"Yep. Always." She said then winked at him. "We're just talking about how I think Nova is gonna be like you and Luna is gonna be like me." I said as he shook his head.
"I think they are both gonna be like you." He said as I shrugged. "We'll just have to see." I said with a smile.
I was getting really excited to get to meet the girls. I was excited to see what they would look like, and how they would act.
It was so exciting knowing I was only a couple months away from meeting them, but I was still terrified.
I knew I would be okay though because I had such a good support system behind me.
