The next couple weeks were a struggle between trying to get the nursery settled, to going to doctors appointments.
We told our family and friends about the twins which was exciting. Everyone was just as shocked as we were about the news which was entertaining.
I was almost done with nursery at this point but I couldn't paint the girls names on the walls yet because Colby hadn't decided on a name for our second girl.
I had given him a couple suggestions but he said none of them were inspiring him. I thought it was absolutely adorable how concerned he was about picking the perfect name for her.
I obviously wanted her to have the perfect name but Colby would pick at every name he thought of, thinking of any way it could hurt her in the future.
I thought it was really sweet.
My body was really starting to hurt because my stomach was quickly growing, pushing my organs in all different directions.
Baby number two had finally moved to be beside Nova which was a relief because I wasn't trying to be on bed rest.
Amy mentioned at our last appointment that near the end I might have to go on bed rest anyways because I had a smaller frame and these babies were going to put my body to the test.
Colby has genuinely been the best about all of this though. He would try to help relieve the pain in any way he could. It usually didn't help all that much but he would try and I was grateful for that.
Today we were filming a video together which hasn't happened in forever. Colby was going to be trying my pregnancy cravings because they have been pretty weird.
"Alright, ready for some culinary masterpieces?" I asked as Colby shook his head. "I usually love your cooking, V. I'm not excited for this though." He said as I nodded. "They're good, I swear." I said as he set up the camera.
"Okay, let's do this." He said then turned the camera on and walked towards me. "What's up guys, it's Colby Brock and today I'm here with my lovely wife, Violet." He said and gestured to me as I waved.
"Hi guys." I said with a smile as he put his hand on my belly. "As you can see, Violet is pregnant. You guys knew she was pregnant with one baby but we got the biggest shock of our life a couple weeks ago...because we're having not just having one baby." He said then looked at me.
"We're having two." He said as I smiled and wiggled my fingers. "Surprise!" I said with a laugh as Colby nodded. "We're having identical twin girls which is going to be amazing." Colby explained as I nodded.
"Now with pregnancy comes weird cravings, and Violet has had the most disgusting and weird cravings ever." He said as I rolled my eyes.
"They aren't that bad." I said as he shook his head. "They look disgusting, V." He said as I shrugged. "The girls and I like them." I said then grabbed the first plate.
"I'll be the judge of that, because today I'm going to be eating some of the weird cravings Violet has had." Colby said as I nodded.
"Okay, we're gonna start off when this one. It's KFC mac and cheese with gravy and pineapple." I said and mixed the ingredients in for him.
"This just sounds disgusting." Colby said as I shook my head. "It's so good." I said as he looked at the camera. "Okay." He said sarcastically then took a bite.
I watched as his face turned into a grimace. "That's so bad, V." He said as I shook my head. "The salty and the sweet though! Ugh, so good." I said as he shook his head.
"Pineapple doesn't belong anywhere but in a mixed drink or a fruit salad." Colby said then pushed that bowl away.
"Whatever, this one is on the newer side. It's spicy ramen, with Cheetos crumbled into it." I said and slid the bowl to him.
"Okay, this one seems like it'll be good." He said as I nodded. "It's really good but the girls get fiesty after I eat it." I said with a laugh as he took a bite.
"Okay, this is amazing." Colby said as I nodded and reached over to take a bite of it. "Yeah, you have to eat it fast though or the Cheetos will get soggy." I said then slid the bowl off to the side.
"Okay, now when I get a sweet tooth, which is all the damn time, I CRAVE this. It's black licorice dipped in vanilla frosting." I said and handed him the ingredients.
"First of all, what kind of demons are you growing in there, because black licorice is horrible." Colby said as I chuckled.
"They're your demon spawns." I said as he laughed. "We're gonna get cancelled for saying that." He said as I shrugged. "Then cut it out. I think it's funny though." I said then rubbed my belly as one of the girls kicked inside of me.
"Alright, let's get this over with." Colby said then took a bite of the licorice and immediately spit it out, screaming in the process.
"That's HORRIBLE." Colby said as I laughed. "Stop! I'm gonna pee!" I yelled with a laugh as I held my stomach. "Oh my god, Violet. I'm seriously so upset that you enjoy that." He said with a laugh as pushed the next dish in front of him.
"Whatever. I saved the best for last. Pizza and pickle juice." I said and wiggled my brows at him. "Hell no." Colby said and shook his head.
"Come on, don't be a pussy." I said then took a slice of pizza and dipped it in the pickle juice. "Guys, I would like to just say, I will be back on the market as soon as this video wraps up." He said as I smacked his arm.
"You're so dramatic!" I said with a laugh as he took the pizza slice from me and took a bite. "Oh fuck, that's so bad dude!" He said as I rolled my eyes.
"It's good, guys. Don't listen to him." I said and took another bite. "Whatever, that wraps up the video. If you want to see a part two get this video to...40,000 likes." He said as I shook my head.
"40,000 for each baby, 120,000 likes." I said as he scrunched his brow. "Please don't tell me it's triplets." Colby said with wide eyes as I laughed. "No dork, you're the third baby because you pussied out and didn't actually eat anything!" I said as he laughed.
"Oh my god." He said then turned to the camera. "She bullies me." He said as I nodded. "Yep." I said as he laughed and wrapped his arms around me.
"But really though, let us know if you want a part two. We have a few more months until the babies come so Violet will probably be having more cravings." Colby said as I nodded.
"Bananas with hot sauce." I said as he gagged. "Gross. I'll see you guys next week. Bye!" Colby said then waved.
"That wasn't so painful now was it?" I asked as he walked over to turn the camera off. "No, but those cravings were seriously nasty." Colby said as I nodded. "I think they're good. And these little cuties think so too." I said and lifted my shirt to show him my belly.
I sighed and traced my fingers along it until I reached my belly button. "I'm afraid I'm gonna pop. I know I'm not that big now but in a couple months my belly button is gonna fly off and I'm gonna explode." I said as I sat down while Colby cleaned the kitchen.
"You're gonna look so cute though." Colby said as I shook my head. "No, I'm gonna be a sweaty pig mixed with a whale." I said as he chuckled.
"You're gonna be all cute and shit in your maternity clothes." He said and walked over to me, putting his hands on my belly. "I think you and I have very different definitions of cute." I said as he nodded.
"Yeah but I'm right." He said as I nodded. "Whatever you think. I'm gonna go take a nap now, I'm exhausted." I said then stood up. "Okay, I'm gonna call Sam. He might come over to help me with some stuff." Colby said as I nodded.
"Have fun." I said then gave him a thumbs up and went upstairs. It was moments like this that I was grateful that I quit my job.
I could have probably handled it with one baby but having two in there was putting a lot of stress on my body. I was honestly starting to really get worried about the third trimester.
I knew when I got pregnant that my body was going to go through changes but I didn't know if I was necessarily ready for those changes yet.
I tried not to think about it too much because I knew I had an amazing support system behind me but I was still really scared.
I didn't know if I'd be able to do it.
