When Colby and I got back to the room Sam was sitting in the middle of the room with the camera and recording device.
"What are you doing, man?" Colby asked as we walked towards the food that was on the desk.
"Shh. I'm onto something." Sam said as I squinted at him. "Nobody is here, Sam." I said as he rolled his eyes.
"How do you know?" He asked as I looked around the room. "I just do." I said then turned to grab the grilled cheese sandwich that was in front of me.
"Can you summon someone?" Sam asked as I chuckled. "Can I eat my sandwich?" I asked as he shrugged.
"I guess so. I just have a feeling tonight is going to be insane." Sam said as Colby handed me a bottle of water.
"Part of me wants that to be true but the other part of me really doesn't." Colby said as I took a bite of my sandwich. "Don't be a pussy. It's gonna be fun." I said then scrunched my nose at him.
"Wooooowww.." Colby said as I giggled and looked away. "I'm a little nervous considering it's barely dark and you already got thrown against a wall." Sam admitted as I shrugged.
"You guys have been here before, you know what it's like here." I said as Colby shook his head.
"It wasn't too bad, but Sam's right. It's horrifying knowing what has already happened." Colby said as I shrugged. "We'll be fine." I said then took another bite of food.
We spent the next hour or so eating and planning for our night.
We were going to spend a majority of the time in our room but we were also going to go to the ballroom, and possibly to the orchestra hall.
"What did you guys want to start with?" Sam asked as I shrugged. "I'm down for anything." I said as Colby grabbed the spirit box. "Let's try this first." He said as I nodded and looked around the room.
"Did you clean up the clothes we set out?" I asked Sam as I pointed to the packed suitcase. "No?" I said as Colby turned the camera on. "Mrs. Wilson? Are you here?" I asked and looked around.
"How can I help you?" A woman asked from the front door. "She's here." I whispered and pointed towards the door. I couldn't see her but I could tell she was standing in the doorway.
"Hi..Um..can you talk in this little box here? We want to communicate with you." I said as Colby filmed. "Mrs. Wilson, did you pack up our stuff?" Sam asked as a cold breeze passed me.
"Yes." A robotic voice sounded from the equipment in Sam's hand. "Oh my god." Sam said as I sighed. "Can you show yourself to me?" I asked and looked around the room. "Energy." The machine said as I nodded.
"You can take my energy." I said and closed my eyes. Almost immediately I felt like I needed to fall asleep. My hands went limp as footsteps sounded in front of me. I sighed and opened my eyes, forcing myself to stay awake.
When I opened my eyes, there was a woman in a maids costume standing right next to Sam. "Hi." I whispered as Colby looked over at me.
"You look like you're going to pass out." He said as I nodded slowly. "Mrs. Wilson, can you talk into the box again?" I asked as she looked at me.
"Why do you stay here in the afterlife?" Sam asked as I looked up at her. I watched as she put her hand on Sam's shoulder.
"I feel something!" Sam gasped as I nodded. I felt my energy dwindling even more as the spirit box said 'purpose'. "Holy shit. You think this is your only purpose?" Colby asked as my vision got spotty.
"Love my job." The spirit box said as I let out a breath and leaned back, feeling like I was about to pass out. "Holy shit, are you okay V?" Sam asked as Colby looked over at me. "V..." He said as I brought my hands to my eyes. "Goodbye." The spirit box said as a weight lifted from my chest.
