"Is there even a point in me asking where we are going?" I asked as Colby took my hand as he drove. "You know me better than that." He said then brought my hand to his lips.
"You're too cute." I said and looked out the window. The sun was starting to set as we drove down the highway.
"I think you just deserve a little trip since you're feeling better." Colby said as I giggled. "More like you want to be able to have sex without worrying about the girls." I said as he chuckled. "Bingo." He said and let go of my hand so he could grab my thigh.
"Can we stop and get ice cream?" I asked as he chuckled. "Yeah, of course we can." Colby said and caressed my thigh with his thumb. I smiled widely and looked over at him as my heart warmed up.
I was so excited to be with someone who loved adventuring as much as I did. I loved how romantic he was and how happy it made him to surprise me.
I didn't deserve it.
We ended up driving for a while before we stopped at the store so we could get some ice cream and some other stuff.
"Are we going camping?" I asked as we walked through the Walmart we were in. "Nope." Colby said then squeezed my hand. "Hmmmm are we going swimming?" I asked as he laughed. "I thought you weren't going to guess." He said as I groaned dramatically.
"I'm just excited! I want to know what we are doing." I said as we walked towards the snacks. "We're almost there. We just have to get some essential things." He said then grabbed some Doritos.
"I want....fruit snacks." I decided then let go of Colby's hand and skipped towards the fruit snacks. I grabbed a box then turned to look at Colby again. "Ice cream?" I asked as he grinned. "You go get ice cream, I'll go get condoms." He said as I laughed.
"THAT'S why we're here?" I asked as he shrugged. "I love the twins but we can't have another kid any time soon." He said as I nodded. "That's true. Okay, I guess I'll meet you by the registers?" I asked as he nodded.
"Don't get lost." He said then winked and turned around. I chuckled then turned to walk towards the freezer section. When I got there I looked at the ice cream selection, hugging the fruit snacks in my arms.
I stood there for a while trying to decide what to get before my phone started ringing. I chucked then answered the phone seeing that it was Ki calling me.
"Hey, Ki." I answered and looked at the freezer in front of me. "Hey, what are you up to?" She asked as I shrugged. "Colby is back at it again. I have no idea where we are going but we're gonna be out of town for the weekend." I said as she groaned.
"Bro, why is your husband straight out of a hallmark movie?" She asked as I laughed and grabbed a pint of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. "I don't know, man. He just likes doing shit like this." I explained then started making my way to the registers.
"I was just going to ask you to film a video with me." Ki said as I smiled. "I'd love to when I get back." I said as she giggled. "Perfect! I just want to do a cooking video and you're the perfect person to do it with." She said as I nodded. "That sounds fun. I'll let you know when we get back." I said as she sighed.
"Okay, go enjoy your romantic getaway! Love you! Don't get pregnant!" Ki said then hung up before I could even respond. "Crazy ass girl." I said then made my way to the registers. When I got there I saw Colby standing there with a box of condoms in his hand.
"What did you pick?" Colby asked as I held up the pint of ice cream. "Peanut butter chocolate." I said as he grinned. "Looks good. Did you want anything else?" He asked as I reached over and grabbed a Kit Kat.
