"Violet..." Colby said as I felt my body start to wake me up. "Hmm?" I asked and brought my hand to my eyes. "Happy Birthday, baby." He said as I cracked my eyes opened and looked at him.
I felt my heart warm up as I took in my surroundings. Colby was standing at the side of the bed with a tray of breakfast foods and drinks.
"Thank you, love. Did you make all of this?" I asked and pouted my lip at him. "Yeah, sorry if it's not good." He said as I shook my head.
"It looks amazing and the girls are excited." I said as they moved in my belly. "Well I have to keep my girls happy." Colby said with a smile as he set the tray of food on the bed.
As he did this the girls both shifted at the same exact time.
"They hear you I think." I said with a laugh as he bent down and put his hands on my belly. "I love you girls so much." He said then kissed my belly and looked up at me.
"And I love you so much." He said quietly then kissed me. "We love you, too." I said then went to start eating.
"What did you want to do today?" Colby asked as I shrugged. "I just kinda want to go on a walk." I said as he laughed. "Yeah? You think you're up for it?" He asked as I nodded.
"I really just want to adventure." I said with a sigh. "Okay, we'll adventure." Colby said then sat next to me.
I sat and and ate my breakfast before going to get ready for the day. I wanted to preserve my energy as best as I could so I just brushed my teeth and braided my hair.
I put on a pair of sweatpants and a shirt then went to reach for my shoes. "Oof-" I groaned as I stood up straight.
"Hey, babe?" I called out as Colby came into the room. "You forgot you can't put your shoes on, didn't you?" He asked as I nodded.
"Every day." I said with a laugh then sat down on the bench we had in our closet.
Colby put my shoes on then patted my leg. "Ready?" He asked as I nodded. "Ready." I said then stood up.
"Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?" Colby asked as we made our way down to the car. "Hmmm..no. Wherever is the most beautiful." I said as he nodded.
"Most beautiful. Got it." He said then opened my door for me. "Thank you." I said then got in the car. "You're welcome." He said then closed the door and jogged to his side of the car.
"How long do you think you're gonna last? Like should I plan for a short trail or a longer one?" Colby asked as he started the car. "I give myself like 30 minutes before I get tired, but an hour before I'm exhausted." I said as he nodded.
"Noted. I know the place." He said then started driving. I found myself looking out the window, aimlessly tracing shapes onto my stomach as we drove to the place.
I didn't want to ask too many questions because I wanted it to be a surprise as to where we were going.
We eventually pulled into a dirt lot which looked like it led to a hiking trail. "You're letting me hike?" I asked as he laughed.
"It's your birthday, V. You should be allowed to do what you love." He said with a smile as he parked the car.
"That's fucking right." I said then winked at him and opened my door. I struggled to get out of the car but eventually was able to do it.
"I'm so excited." I said with a wide smile as he took my hand and led me towards the trail. "I'm sorry you haven't been able to hike as much." Colby said as I took in the scenery around me.
