When I got upstairs I went to our bedroom closet so I could get changed into some more comfortable clothes.
I decided to put on a pair of Colby's sweatpants and one of his sweatshirts. Once I was dressed I made my way out of the room so I could go check on the girls.
When I got to the nursery I leaned against the door frame and watched the girls sleep for just a second. I was so happy that they were able to sleep in their cribs since it had been so long.
I was just happy they were okay.
I stood there for a little while before I decided to go down to the kitchen so I could clean up. When I got down there I sighed at the huge mess I had made in the kitchen.
I loved cooking with my whole heart but I hated nothing more than having to clean the kitchen afterwards.
I started by packing away the food that we didn't eat, since I had made a shit ton of food. When I was done with that I started doing the dishes.
It took me so long that by the time I was done Colby was back from the store.
"That was fast." I said as he came into the room. "I know my way around a CVS." He said then winked and pulled the plan b container out. "For you, my love." He said as I chuckled.
"Thank you for the baby eraser." I said then took it from him so I could take the pill. "Are you even ovulating right now?" He asked as I shrugged.
"I don't know. My period is supposed to start in a few days so maybe not." I said then grabbed a glass of water.
I took the pill then huffed out a breath. "Alright. Now that that's done, I need to finish cleaning the kitchen." I said as Colby pulled out the ice cream from the grocery bag.
"Okay, I'll put this in the freezer then." He said as I nodded and turned to clean the counters.
"I can't believe you tried to get me pregnant." I said as I picked up the black dress that Colby had taken off of me. "Would it be so bad?" He asked as I nodded. "Yes." I said and folded my dress up.
"It's just not the right time. Maybe if the twins were older." I explained as he nodded. "Yeah, I just want to have more kids with you." He said as I smiled.
"I want to have kids with you, but we have to slow down a little bit." I said then wiped the counters down.
"Stop dripping sex appeal, then maybe I'll slow down." Colby said as I grinned. "As if you don't drip sex appeal." I teased then dried the counter off. "Whatever, I'll be back." He said then turned to leave the room.
I finished cleaning the kitchen then grabbed the icecream container and two spoons before hopping onto the counter.
"Damn, do you want round two already?" Colby asked as he walked into the room. He had changed into sweatpants and wasn't wearing a shirt.
"You're the one not wearing a shirt." I said then patted the counter. "Come sit with me." I said as he grinned then hopped onto the counter, sitting next to me.
"How are you feeling?" Colby asked as I opened the container of ice cream. "I feel fine. I'm a little nervous about the baby making juices but I think we'll be okay." I said then grabbed the empty plan b container, reading the back of it.
"Yeah, it says if it's taken within 24 hours it's 97% effective. Between that and my birth control I think we're gonna be alright." I said as Colby shrugged.
"You got pregnant from your birth control and had twins so I don't know if I trust that." Colby said as I sighed. "We'll just have to see, I guess." I said then took a bite of ice cream.
"So, have you and Sam discussed your next move yet? You haven't taken a break this long in years." I said and handed the ice cream to Colby.
"Yeah, we are gonna take a couple more weeks then be back for the week of Halloween." Colby explained as I nodded.
"How are you going to come back?" I asked as he shrugged. "We were thinking about going somewhere new. We haven't decided where yet, though." He said then handed the ice cream back to me.
"Well whatever you do, I think it will be amazing. I'm so proud of you guys." I said with a small smile as he grinned.
"I wish you would come with us." He said as I shook my head. "I can't do that to the girls. They always get sick and fussy when we leave them. I don't want to take them on a plane either." I said with a frown.
"I understand. I don't really want to leave them but I can't leave Sam hanging like that." Colby said with a sigh.
"I think it's a good thing that you and Sam have stayed so close. The girls and I will always be a phone call away no matter where you go." I said then leaned my head on his shoulder.
"I love you, V. Thanks for being so amazing." He said then took my hand. "I love you, too. I'm just lucky to have you." I said as he turned to kiss my head.
"I'm lucky to have you, too." Colby said quietly then wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close.
We sat there for a second before the girls started crying at the same time. "That was fun while it lasted." I said with a laugh as I hopped down from the counter.
"Yeah, they slept for a lot longer than I thought they would." Colby said as I giggled. "They want these titties." I said as we made our way upstairs.
"I don't blame them." He said then slapped my ass. "Relax." I said with a laugh as we made our way into the nursery.
"What's wrong, girlies?" I asked as I pulled Nova out of her crib. "Are we hungry?" I asked as she frowned and cried, reaching for me.
"Yeah, I bet you're hungry." I said then sat down in the rocking chair as Colby grabbed Luna. "Come on then." I said then positioned Nova so she could eat.
"You still amaze me." Colby said as he laid Luna in my other arm. "How so?" I asked then postitioned Luna.
"You're able to just feed them with your body. That's cool as hell." He said as I grinned. "To be fair, it's my body doing it naturally, I don't actually do shit." I said as he rolled his eyes playfully.
"You're a dork." He said as I nodded. "Takes one to know one." I said then winked as the girls ate.
Once they were finished we burped them and put them back in their cribs so they could go back to sleep.
I stood there and watched them for a second as they sleepily looked up at me, blinking slowly.
"Everything okay?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah, I just love watching them." I said quietly as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Yeah, I do too. They're adorable." He remarked, watching them with me. "We did good, I think." I said as he chuckled.
"And we're gonna do just as good with the new baby in your stomach." He said as I gasped and smacked his arm.
"Stop speaking that into existence!" I scolded with a laugh. "I'm just messing with you." He said as I chuckled and turned to leave the room.
"I know, but my vagina is still trying to cope from the twins. Give her a break." I said as he chuckled. "Never." He said as we walked into the bedroom.
We walked into the room then immediately went to bed since it had been a long day.
"I missed this." Colby said as I snuggled into him. "Yeah, as much as I loved sleeping in a twin bed it's nice to be able to spread out." I said then flailed my legs around causing him to laugh.
"Right, thank god I won't be kicked in the balls in my sleep anymore." He said as I shrugged. "If you're lucky." I said then looked up and winked at him.
"Goodnight, dork." He said then kissed my head. "Goodnight, goober." I said as he laughed. "It's been forever since you've called me that." He said as I nodded.
"Yeah, I kinda forgot about it. We should find that bear and give it to the girls." I said with a yawn. "We should." Colby said as I drifted off to sleep.
As I fell asleep I thought about how grateful I was to be at home in our bed with both of the girls in the other room.
I was just so glad we were home.
