Chapter 12-Yes I am

"Well I was planning to tell you later but yes. I am your father" he replied

Did he not want me?

Why didn't my mom tell me?

I've always wanted to know who my biological father is, whenever I had a family tree project I would put Lucas's side.

"I have been lied to a lot in my life so just tell me the truth. Did you not want me?" I asked expecting disappointment.

"No, no. I didn't even know you existed till recently. Your mom left beginning of January of 2006. She didn't leave anything, she took the skateboard and locket. I don't know why she left but she never mentioned being pregnant" he said

"Why would my mother just disappear?" I asked

"I don't know, she wasn't hinting at it either. It was like one day she decided to pick up her stuff and move" he replied

"Weird" I said

My mom wasn't like this, she wouldn't just pack up her bags and leave.

"Yeah" he replied

"So this is you in my locket" I said

"Yeah, I was 18. That picture was actually of your mother and I" he replied

"Could I see?" I asked

"Yeah" he replied

He pulled out his phone and looked through it. He flipped his phone showing me a picture of him and my mom

They looked cute together. I could imagine us a family if my mom stayed.

I wish she stayed

I wouldn't have gone through the abuse, the trauma and probably would have coped with my mom's trauma.

"You guys are cute together" I said

"Yeah, we were" he replied smiling at the picture

"So did you give my mom the skateboard?" I asked

"Yeah, she wanted to learn so I taught her on that and gave it to her. We carved our names on it" he said

I didn't know at first what the T means and I would ask my mom but she would brush it off

"Do you still skateboard?" I asked

"No, I haven't since I was 19" he replied

"Were you good at it?" I asked

"You're asking the pro of skateboarding if I was good at it" he said with a scoff of disbelief

"Hey I haven't seen you ride before, so in my mind you suck" I replied

"Well little girl, once you can skateboard again I'll show you" he said

"Ok it's on" I said

"You're going to lose" he replied

"Yeah right" I scoffed

We started laughing a bit, an adult and kid fighting over who's better at skateboarding

"Are you going to get custody over me?" I asked

"Yeah, not gonna let you disappear on me again" he replied

"Thanks" I said

"Hey I know you don't like to sleep but in order to heal you need to get some rest." Tyler said

"But it always results to a nightmare" I replied

"How about this. I'll stay in here and if I see you starting to have a nightmare I'll wake you up before it's too late" he said
