The estranged family

Chapter 50-dinner with the parents

"Mom's parents?" I questioned in shock. I know nothing about them, mom didn't like talking about them and always shut it down when I asked about them. She would always tell me I'm better off without them.

"I know it's a shock to me too" he said

"But they kicked mom out, they are the reason she moved and found lucas" I exclaimed

"I know, I don't know why they want to meet me. They got into contact and arranged a lunch. I don't want to go but I need to know why all of a sudden they reach out" he said

"Did they want to see me? Did they ask about me?" Many questions came up and I had no answer

"They wanted you to come but I refused. I didn't want them to ambush you so I'm gonna go first and see what they want." He said

"How do they know about me" I asked

"I don't know, maybe when you moved with me?" He shrugged

"Maybe but you promise to tell me everything?" I stuck out my pinky

"Yes, I promise" he said sticking his pinky out and wrapping it around mine

"Pinky promises are sacred, break it and I will never trust you again. Max broke a pinky promise over a girl and now we don't speak" I said

"Over a pinky promise?" He questioned

I breathed in and out "pinky promises are a big deal to me because when mom was sick I still made her take me to max's soccer game and skateparks because I pinky promised max and never broke it. Pinky promises are special to me and mom never broke any besides one of them" I said

"Which one did she break?" He asked

"That she won't leave me" I sighed. I could feel the tears coming up but I pushed them down.

"I promise I'll tell you everything, nothing will be held back. I won't break anymore promises" he said tightening the hold on both of our pinkies

"Good" I said. we unwrapped our pinkies and he finished getting ready. We both had theories on why they wanted to see him.

They were either trying to make amends or they want to be in my life. I hope it's the first one because I don't want them in my life, they didn't want me in the first place.

"I'm leaving, I'll be back soon" he said

"Ok, bye" I said. I watched him leave the house and I went back to my room. I was still very tired and decided to nap and hope the nap will consume most of their lunch so I won't have to wait.

2 hours later

I woke up not feeling refreshed. It was hot and I was sweaty under all of my blankets. I hate these type of naps and honestly watching tv would be better. I threw the blankets over my bed and got out of the room to turn the ac on. I took off my socks and grabbed my thinnest blanket and went back to sleep.

I fell back asleep for 10 minutes before the devil shook me awake

"Skylar I'm back" Tyler said. Why couldn't he have been gone longer, I wanted more sleep.

"Please let me sleep more" I cried into my pillow.

"But I have information" he said

"Later, I barely slept" I said

"Ok, come find me when you're awake" he replied. I heard my door close and I fell back asleep.

2 hours later

When I woke up I actually felt refreshed and it was one of the best naps I have ever had. I threw the blanket off of me and realized Tyler is home
