"He called you?" I asked

"Yeah, about a guy name Max" he replied

"He's my childhood best friend. Remember how I told you about him and how he moved" I said

"That's the same max?" He asked

"Yeah and I didn't even know he goes to the school I go to and we reconnected" I said

"Then why did I hear he isn't good company" he replied playing with the pen in his hand

"I don't know, he's a good kid and always has been. He's my best friend and if my mom allowed me to be friends then I can be friends" I said

"People can change" Tyler warned

"So you want to go against mom wishes and not let me be friends with him because of a stupid call and let me be lonely at school?" I questioned manipulating him with the new girl act and dead mom. I didn't want to but I wasn't going to stop being friends with max because of Atticus

"That's not what I mean" he replied annoyed

"No I get it, go against mom" I said

"Skylar-

"It's fine" I replied walking away

"Fine, keep hanging out with max" he said

"Thank you" I replied

Miss isabella made shrimp with rice and vegetables. I sat on the barstool and ate my food

"How was school?" Tyler asked

"Good, as you know I reconnected with my childhood best friend. Some of the teachers aren't the best and in two weeks soccer pre season starts" I said

"You're going to play soccer this year?" He asked

"Yeah, is that fine?" I asked

"Yeah, you will probably need some gear" he said

"Yeah but I think pre season is more like working out but I'll talk to Olivia" I said

"Is she one of your new friends?" He asked

"Yeah" I replied

We ate dinner, Tyler would ask questions about school and wanting to know more which was shocking. I went back upstairs and watched some tv. I got ready for bed and slept

1 week later

I have somewhat adjusted to school. It's been a week and I've gotten to understand the classes better and my friends.

"Hey Sky" max said

"Hi maxie" I replied

"We're going to hang out after school at my house. Do you want to come?" He asked

It was a Friday so I was free and I didn't have too much homework.

"Sure let me see if Michael can drive me" I said

"Ok" he replied

It was 3:00pm and Michael was here to pick me up

"Hey Michael" I said

"Yeah" he replied

"Could you drop me off at Max's place?" I asked

"You have to ask your father" he replied

"Ok" I said

I grabbed my phone, calling Tyler. Couple rings in he answered

"Hello" he said
