Holy fucking shit

I turned my head towards Max to see he did the same thing. We were both in shock to see each other again

Max my fucking best friend from Seattle who moved away before my mom passed away. He moved a couple months before not knowing she passed away

"Okay so today we will just do some ice breakers, so turn to the partner next to you and introduce yourself and we will rotate" She said

I turned to Max and he did the same thing

"How? What? When?" He questioned not knowing anything

"I should ask you the same thing" I said

"How are you here?" He asked

"I moved recently" I said

"When did your parents move you?" He asked

"Parent, mom passed away couple months after you left" I said

"Shit, I'm so sorry Sky" he said triggering flashbacks from my mom calling me that and Max would call me that. I would call him maxie

"It's okay Maxie" I replied not having the guts to tell him I don't like being called Sky anymore

"You're still stuck on that nickname" He said

"Of course" I replied smiling

"So you and Lucas moved here?" He asked

"No, the social worker found my birth father and now I live with him" I said

"Woah, that must be interesting" He replied

"It is" I said

We switched partners and the next girl I had seemed really nice.

"Hi I am Mikayla" she said

"Hi I am skylar" I replied

"How do you like the school?" She asked

"Good so far, only been to one class so far" I said

"You'll like it, once you get to know the campus it gets easier and better" she replied

"Ok, that's good" I said

"Did you recently move?" She asked

"Yeah from Seattle" I said

"Doesn't it always rain there?" She asked

"Yeah, majority of the time but we do get sun" I replied

"You must hate the rain after a while" she said

"I actually enjoy it, it's really nice and peaceful" I said

"Well don't expect that here, we rarely get rain" She replied

"Dang it" I said

We switched partners again and this time I met a nice guy, we talked a bit but not as much as I did with Max or Mikayla.

Once we went around we ended back in our original seats and the teacher told us about what we should expect in class. The bell rang and I walked out with Max, talking to him

"Do you still skateboard?" He asked

"Yes, and remember how we couldn't figure out the letters on it" I said

"Yeah" He replied

"It means Lizzie and Tyler, my birth parents." I said

"No way, it was always a mystery for us and we thought of random names" He replied
