"Checkmate, carrot top."

George's jaw dropped, as he examined the board in front of him. Chance, Caterina, the twins and Cassandra, were all sitting around the Gryffindor common room.

Fred was pretending to be doing his homework, while secretly gazing at the photo Cat gave him, of him and Cassie, sleeping on the train together. Caterina was sitting back, in between Chances legs, while he lay on the couch. He had his arms around her, holding a book out in front of them, reading softly to her.

Cassandra had challenged George to a match of wizards chess and practicing over the Summer by herself almost everyday, really helped.

"That's," George spluttered, "no, what- I just, but, I was just about to win!" Cassie grinned at him.

"I'm just about to win-, oh wait." George scoffed at her, while she stood and done an odd little victory dance. Fred smiled at her, finding it amusing, his twin lightly pushed the girl.

"Oh piss off, at least I'm not as bad as Ron. I know I'll always beat him, oh his face when he loses is hilarious." George sniggered, imagining Ron's facial expressions. Cassie looked thoughtful.

"Well, maybe next time I see him, I can teach him. You know, so I can watch him beat your ars." She stated simply. Both the twins scoffed simultaneously.

"Good luck with that." They said together. Cassie huffed and looked between them, her eyes landing on Fred. When he realised she was strolling over to him, he quickly slid his photo under his charms book.

"I bet three sickles, I could teach him to beat both of you, by the time he starts Hogwarts." She leaned further towards Fred, their faces inch's apart. Fred gulped, then put up a cocky front.

"Bet." They shook hands, without breaking their intense eye contact. At that moment, Oliver descended down the stairs, clearing his throat loudly, as he wondered over to the portrait to leave.

Cassandra and Fred turned to the noise, Fred scowled at his retreating figure, while Cassie blushed slightly. When the portrait closed, Fred's ruffled tie, caught Cassies eye.

She casually lifted her hands and began fixing it. Fred gazed down at her, she had her eyebrows furrowed, as she bit her lip in concentration. When she finished, pride washed over her face and her eyes lit up, causing Fred's gentle smile to widen even more.

She glanced up at him, with a grin, her features softened when their eyes connected once again. No words were spoken and everyone else in the room seemed to disappear. Cassies hands were still holding onto his tie delicately, Fred's hands reached out to place them on her hips.

But just as his fingertips brushed against the material of Cassies robes, she sneezed.

Her hair shot up in flames, but instead of them being there for a quick second, the fire slowly faded away. Cassandras cheeks turned red in embarrassment and she stepped back, her eyes trailing the floor beneath them in shame.
