"Hey there, yah sexy beast."
Cassandra swiveled around in her chair, snapping out of her trance. Her light blue eyes met Zephyrs deep, brown eyes. A smirk, spread across her face, as she went to reply, smoothly.
"Well there's the baddest bitc-, Katie what are you doing?"
Katie Bell, was sprawled out on the ground of the astronomy classroom, beside their desk. She was glaring at Zephyr, who was supporting, a sickly sweet grin, staring down at her.
Katie huffed her hair out of her face and turned to the confused Cassie. She tried to look like she wasn't just shoved to the ground, in a race to sit beside the girl and began posing, trying to act natural. It wasn't working.
She smiled awkwardly, as Cass gazed down at her, with a smirk that just shouted confusion. "I- I just-." She paused, trying to think of a believable excuse, then something caught her eye. She picked up a clump of fluff beside her head and laughed nervously. "Dropped this, I dropped it. You- you wouldn't get it, private joke."
Cassies facial expression didn't change, as she nodded. Zephyr arched one of her defined eyebrows, challengingly. "I don't think anyone, gets it." She stated, teasingly. Just as Katie went to reply, with a snarky comment, Professor Sinistra strolled over to her.
"Ms Bell-," she paused, Katie gulped nervously, as she scrambled to stand up, then a look of relief washed over the Professors face, puzzling the three girls.
"I have been doing everything I can, traps, poisons, I even got Ms Norris up here at one point, didn't work. Then you come along and catch the thing with your bare hands, five points to Gryffindor."
They exchanged glances, completely lost, then Katie's face fell. She blinked and forced her eyes to trail down to the ball of fluff in her hand. Two black, beady, dead eyes, stared up at her, she quickly dropped it and gagged.
Zephyr was heard snorting in laughter, from beside Cassie, who was covering her smile with a fist. Katie grimaced in embarrassment and didn't dare look up at the two girls. She shut her eyes tightly, as Professor Sinistra flicked her wand, to sweep the dead mouse up.
Cassandra felt terrible for the girl, so she stood to guide Katie to the bathroom, to get her hands washed. But once again the Professor waved her wand, suds covered the girls hands and just as fast as it appeared, it was gone. So Cassie had to awkwardly pretend she wasn't walking over and instead lifted her bag, rooted around inside of it for a moment or two, faked a huff, imagining she forgot something and sat back down.
She glanced around the room, to see if anyone had seen, just as she thought she was in the clear, she made eye contact with Zephyr. With one look, they both burst out sniggering, leaning on each other for support.
"What was that?" Zephyr wheezed, Cassie brought her hand to her heart in fake offense.
"I think I did a pretty good job, like that was smooth-." She could hardly finish her own sentence, as that sent them into another fit of silent laughter.
