Chance sucked in a deep breath, a cigarette placed delicately between his lips. He was currently outside, leaning against one of the more secluded walls of Hogwarts. The night before, Cassandra came straight to him when Madam Pomfery fixed her up.

He was pissed when someone knocked on his door, saying there was a person looking for him in the middle of the night. Then as soon as he caught a glimpse of Cassie trembling outside of the Slytherin common room, he rushed over, taking the girl into his arms.

Chance took her up to his dorm and lay her down in bed, crawling in beside her. He soothed her and listened to her ramble about everything that happened, until light snores were heard.

He hardly slept that night, thinking about Dumbledores so called 'training'. It had gotten her hurt, as in stumbling over, not being able to see straight hurt. Chance went red in the face when Cass had explained it, but covered his frustration, not wanting the girl to feel like a burden.

When morning came around he made sure Cassie had breakfast and went to class, then ditched class to smoke. He had taken up smoking over the Summer when the stress of his parents put on him, got to much. He got his hands on some packs of cigarettes from one of his mother's friends son.

Suddenly, a little boy with light brown curly hair and large round glasses, covering curious blue eyes, appeared in front of Chance. He got so much of a shock, he sucked in to fast and began to choke on some smoke, causing a large coughing fit.

Chance had his eyes trained on the small boy as he coughed, waiting for him to leave. But the boy didn't move a muscle and smiled up at him. Chance glanced around, not wanting to deal with the child, who was so clearly a first year.

The boy smiled so widely, Chance felt bad for his cheek muscles. The Hufflepuff held out one of his hands, the other hand holding a wobbling pile of books to his chest.

"Hello!" The boy exclaimed, Chance examined his hand and slowly lifted his own, only to use two fingers to shake one of the boys fingers in greeting. The boys smile didn't falter and even grew impossibly wider, making Chance clear his throat.

"Hello," he deadpanned, then paused, looking the boy in yellow robes up and down, "child."

The boy nodded enthusiastically. "I am a child!" He shouted, Chance jerked his head back, not expecting the boy to carry on shouting, he was looking for a way around him at this point. He would have pushed past him already, but there was something familiar in his eyes. "I'm Issac Viotto." He introduced himself.

Chances eyes went wide, realising this was the little brother Caterina ranted on about so lovingly. Issac sniffed, obviously needing a tissue, making Chance recoil in disgust and wipe his hand on his robes. Issac just stood smiling away, waiting for the older boy to reply.

"Eh," Chance cleared his throat awkwardly once more, "I'm eh-,"

"Chance right?! My sister talks about you all the time! Do you know my sister? Well of course of you do, your her big scary bestie! I've heard all about you and my sister from another mister, Cassandra!" Chance just blinked as the boy rambled on. "I think it's pretty cool that Rina-, which is Catrina by the way, I have my own nickname for her. But yeah I think it's really cool that-? Huh, never mind, I forgot what I was gonna say-." He paused, with a look of concentration.
