"Anything from the trolley dears."

The voice snapped the two girls out of their whispers, Cassandra was just telling Caterina about how she thinks, Adrian definitely, had to have some troll blood in him. Cat had been scolding her for saying such things, but she couldn't hold back her giggles at the thought.

"Can I have two Chocolate frogs please, and a pack of Bertie Botts every flavor beans too, thanks." Cass asked with a look of pride on her face, after being able to cheer Caterina up. She turned to Cat "Wait, until you see these."

After Cass had payed and thanked the trolley lady, she handed over one of the chocolate frogs to Caterina, who had a soft, but curious smile across her face. Cassandra watched in anticipation for her to open it, getting ready in case the charmed chocolate hopped away.

Caterina looked at the girl who had her tongue sticking out in concentration, Cassie looked as if she was ready to pounce at any moment. with a worried expression, concerned for the girl, Cat blinked twice and decided too just open the box.

As soon as the lid came off the top, something jumped out. Startled, Cat hopped back, while Cass leapt forward and caught it. She turned to Cat while a smile.

"Got it."

As Cassie handed back the chocolate, Cat got a proper look at it. A look of horror spread across her pale face.

"What in the world-?! Please don't tell me I have to kill it, I don't think I could live with myself, you know I'm actually not that hungry, you can have it, I'll just wait till we get to school, wait- we don't have to kill all our food first right-?"

"Woah, woah, woah, it's ok, it's not actually a frog. It's just charmed to act like one." Cass cut in, trying to put a stop to the blondes rambling. When she took a bite out of her own chocolate frog, Caterina let out a squeal.

"Maybe, we should have started of with the beans." Cassie said with a nervous chuckle. The blonde looked at her with an attempted smile, though it came out as more of a grimace.

Back in Chances compartment, he stayed silent, trying to drown out his friends obnoxious voices. He just couldn't get the muggle-borns frightened expression out of his mind, well it was either that, or the look of pure awe, when she was watching him levitate the wrapper.

He looked down at the pink and white sweet wrapper, which was still in the place he dropped it, after breaking his concentration at the sound of Adrians voice, questioning Caterina.

All his life he was told how horrible muggle-borns were, how he should treat them like the dirt on his shoe and anyone who associated themselves with them would be considered blood-traitors. But the blonde that stood before him- no he can't think like that she's nothing, she filthy, she's-she's-.

"I'm going to the bathroom, to put on my robes." the boy announced, not that it did anything, he merely got a nod from Miles, who continued talking about their upcoming potion classes.

Chance practically raced out the door and searched for the girl who had been plaguing his mind. He had been about to give up when he heard someone let out a squeal. The boy poked his head forward to check what caused the high pitched noice.

"Maybe, we should have started with the beans" he heard a strangely familiar voice say. His eyes found the source of the voice and froze. 'Ah shit,' he thought to himself 'ok, if I say the wrong thing, the angry girl is gonna kill me'.

Before he could second guess himself, his hand had reached out and was sliding the compartment door open. He quickly stepped in and slid the door closed, in case one of his friends decided to look down the hall.

Cassandra immediately went into a protective stance, moving a bit so she was sitting in a way where he couldn't fully see Caterina. Her expression turned from a sheepish grin to a 'you come any closer, I'll kill you' kind of look.

Chance swallowed thickly, he hadn't planned what he was actually going to say. So not knowing what to do, he slowly raised his arms in a way that meant the came in peace. He must have looked odd, as Caterina giggled at the sight. A giggle which caused the boys heart to flutter.

"What the fuck is that supposed to be?" Cass questioned with narrowed eyes and a crease between her eyebrows, while gesturing to his arms.

"What-, oh right-, eh-, well-, I-I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier. You know the whole-."

"Yeah we know." Cassie cut in with.

"Right, yeah I just wanted to say sorry. I would have stopped it but, well, I didn't think I'd be able to stand up to my friends." Chance sighed, looking down in shame. Cass let her guard down more and scooted back so he would have a full view of Caterina. His breath got caught in his throat at the sight of her bright blue eyes, but he quickly recovered and sat down across from the two girls.

He looked down at his hands trying to find the right words to say. He opened his mouth, but before he could let any words out, a soft voice stopped him.

"I forgive you, I get scared too sometimes." He looked up at the blonde and sighed in relief, before he realized what she had said.

With his eyebrows furrowed, the boy blinked a couple of times and looked between the two girls who gazed at him with eyebrows raised.

"I wasn't-, that's-, that's not what I-, no-, what?"

Their faces didn't waver the slightest. Chance sighed in defeat. "Fine, fine, I was, I was scared alright, I'll admit that."

"You didn't need to, we knew that already, it was obvious." Cass replied bluntly. But jumped when Caterina hit her. "Ow sorry."

Cat looked over at the brown haired boy. "What's your name, I know you know mine." Chance felt a tinge of guilt when he thought back to the time when she had introduced herself, but pushed the scene from his mind.

"It's Kingston."

Cass looked at him expectingly, "Kingston what?" His face gave a confused expression, before his mouth shifted into the shape of an o and a look of realization passed his features.

"Sorry, Chance Kingston."

"Ok then Kingston Chance Kingston, I'm Cassandra Harper." Chances eyebrows shot up at the mention of her second name. He had heard of the Harpers and she was definitely not what he was expecting. His mother described them as a sophisticated and classy family, which from his two interactions with Cass, sounded nothing like her.

She was looking at him right now with a conflicted expression, as if she was still trying to decide if she forgave him for making her new friend cry. Caterina who noticed the tension, tried to defuse it.

"We were just about to try some flavored bean things, if you wanted to stay." Cassies mouth morphed into a mischievous grin.

"Yeah Chance, stay and have some beans." As she spoke, she held out the now open box of every flavored beans, towards him. He hesitated, knowing that when they said every flavor, they really meant every flavor. Cass noted the boys hesitation, "If you eat at least five, I'll forget what happened with your friends."

"Deal" he replied, straight away, not wanting to be on the girls bad side.

Chance had already forgotten about going back to Adrian and Miles and for the rest of the train ride they laughed so hard they couldn't breath and choked on some nasty flavored beans.
