"She can't stay here, I need you please. I know it's a lot to ask, but-."
Oswald Harper was leaned over in front of the fireplace, speaking in an urgent and rapid tone. Checking over his shoulder every few seconds, glancing at both the door and the empty area, where his daughters blood once stained the floors.
"Oh, oh thank you Min-." A sound was heard, rattling through the hallways, he froze and snapped his head to the door with wide eyes, full of alarm, mixed with a certain fear. "I must go now, but I thank you again. We shall talk in the morning to discuss this matter further. The sooner the better."
With that, they both bid a quick farewell and Oswald straightened his back. He watched the door closely, acting as natural as he could. He couldn't help the cold chill that ran down his back, when perfectly manicured nails, clawed their way around the door frame.
Akilah only showed half her face when staring him down. She was unsettlingly still, the shadows draping over her like a cloak. "Who were you talking to, sweetie?" She whispered, with a squeak.
Oswald wiped the sweat of his forehead, with his sleeve and leaned his hand against the mantel piece. Taking a deep breath and tilting his head as innocently as he could, he replied with a breathy voice.
"Nobody darling. Probably just voicing my thoughts without realizing it again. Come on let's head to up to bed." As he strolled forward, Akilah skipped quickly into the room, making him take a step back and freeze.
"Well, what were you thinking about?" She asked, her nightdress flowing beneath her, bare feet standing where Cassandras unconscious body lay just a couple hours ago. He forced a chuckle, while Akilah creepily tilted her head to one side, with a deadly smile. He walked over, trying his best not to stumble and cupped his crazed wife's cheeks.
"I was just thinking," he gulped, "the sooner Cassandra leaves this family....... the better." Akilah narrowed her eyes at him, knowing fully well, that he didn't mean it, especially after he jumped out in front of her. But instead of saying anything, she nodded slowly, he let out a silent sigh of relief and kissed her forehead.
He took her hand in his and dragged her out of the room gently, glancing at the fire place once more, before going to bed.

"Come on sweetheart, you need to wake up ok? Your fathers got you, I'm here."
The next night, Oswald snuck into Cassandras room, an hour or two past midnight. He gently picked the girl up around her knees and back, levitating her trunks, that were full to the brim with stuff, behind him as he raced down the hallway as quiet as he could. Cassie groaned, wanting her rub her eyes, but the stiffness in her arm didn't allow her to do so.
Oswald snapped his head in all directions, just waiting for his wife to pop up around the corner at any minute, to stop him, to laugh at them, to hurt them. He shushed Cassie, regretting waking her up, before she needed to be awake.
