That night, Y/n was back at Grannies with Killian. They sat at the bar with some drinks. Y/n looked at the flask Killian pulled out of his coat. He poured some of it into his drink and took a sip. "Can I get a sip of that?" She asked him. Killian looked at her and chuckled. "No." He tells her. Y/n pouts at him. "Please?" She said. Neal walked up to them. "Bae, Killian won't let me have a sip," Y/n whined. Neal looked at the pirate. "Can't let a teenager drink rum, can I?" Killian asked him. Neal petted Y/n's head. "Just drink your apple juice." He tells her. "You see, this is why Neverland was so much better," Y/n complained. Neal chuckled at her. He puts his hands on her shoulders. "Trust me, it's disgusting," Neal tells her. Y/n groaned and turned in her seat. "I'm gonna go out." She said. She stood up from her seat. "Do you want me to come with you?" Killian asked her. She shook her head as she puts on her coat. "I'm just going for a walk. I'll see you tomorrow." She tells the pirate and Baelfire. She stepped outside the door. A cold wind blew past her face and through her hair. Y/n groaned and tried to ignore her hair. She walked on the streets by herself. There was no one else here. She shrugged it off and continued to walk. She made her way towards the forest. She hummed a little tune to herself. The tune Pan used to play for her and the lost boys. She was lost in her thoughts which caused her to bump into someone. "Hey! Watch it!" She called out. Her eyes fell on the person she bumped into. "Oh, Jefferson. I'm sorry." She said. The man sighed. He puts his hands in the pockets of his coat. "It's alright." He replied. He eyed her up and down. "Are you alright?" He asked her. The lost girl nodded. "Yeah. Where are you going at this time?" She asked him. Jefferson shrugged. "Grace is asleep. I just went out for a walk." He explained, "What about you?" He asked her. Y/n shrugged. "The forest reminds me of Neverland. I go out there to feel better." She explained. "All by yourself?" He asked her. Y/n nodded in response. "Well, you shouldn't be out here by yourself. My house is nearby. Care for a cup of tea?" He asked her. Y/n frowns at him. "Sure. I guess." She said.
Meanwhile, Neal sat next to Killian. The pirate looked at the man. Neal looked at the man next to him as well. "She's been doing pretty good," Neal spoke up. Killian took a sip of his drink. "It appears so." He replied. "You know, the father title looks good on you. You two seem to be very happy together." Neal said. Killian let out a soft chuckle. "It is something to get used to. I'm just glad she's safe now." He tells Neal. The pirate took another sip. "But I'm not so sure about her." He added. Neal frowned at him. "What do you mean?" He asked. "She's quiet. She also spends a lot of time in the woods. I can sometimes hear her whisper late at night. She's calling for Pan's shadow." Killian explained. Neal shifted in his chair. "The shadow's still out there?" He questioned. The pirate nodded in response. Neal let out a deep sigh. "She misses Neverland," Neal said. Killian nods slowly. "That she does. But I think she misses more than just the island." He replies. Neal takes a sip of his coffee. "Pan and Felix." He breathed out, "There isn't much we can do about that." Neal added. "It makes me worry about her," Killian admits. Neal pats his back. "I know, man. I'm sure she'll be fine. She needs time to process all of this." He assured the pirate. Killian nodded in response. "Teenagers." He said. Neal chuckled.
Jefferson pushed open the door of his mansion. Y/n stepped inside the hallway. "So, you lived here all by yourself?" She asked him. Jefferson nodded in response. He got up behind Y/n and helped her take off her coat. Y/n walked further into the hallway. "Follow me," Jefferson tells her. Y/n turns around on her heels. She followed the man into a private room. "I'll make us some tea. You can sit right there." Jefferson tells her. Y/n walks over to the couch that stood in the room. She sat down and watched as Jefferson left the room. Y/n looks around the room she was sitting in. Soon, Jefferson walked back in. He had a tray in his hands. A teapot and two cups were standing on it. He sat down next to the girl. He poured the tea into the cups. "Sugar?" He asked her. The lost girl shook her head. "No, thank you." She answered. Jefferson handed her the cup. He took the other in his right hand. "Thanks." Y/n smiled at him. She brought her cup up to her nose. She sniffed gently. "That's cinnamon," Jefferson tells her. "I thought it had a familiar scent," Y/n said. She had an innocent smile on her lips. Jefferson watched her closely. Y/n noticed his glance. She sniffed again. Poison. Pan had taught her how to notice it from a mile away. She giggled innocently. "What?" Jefferson smiled at her. Y/n shrugged and set the cup down. "I love how you think you're able to drug me so easily." She chuckled. She stood up from her seat. The lost girl walked up to the little fireplace. "So, is Grace home? Or did you want to kill me while she was here too? To feel the adrenaline of killing me here with your daughter in the next room." Y/n spoke up.
Jefferson jumped up from his seat. He pushed Y/n against the wall behind them. He wrapped his hand around her throat. "How did you know?" He asked her. "About the poison? I could smell that from a mile away." Y/n replied. Jefferson slams her harder against the wall. "The hat. How did you know about the hat?" He asked. Y/n shrugged in response. Jefferson's grip around her throat tightened. "A little bird told me." She tells him. "How?" He asked her again. "We know a lot more than you think." Y/n smirks at him. The mad hatter rubs his thumb over the skin of her neck. "Pan knew everything, therefore I knee everything. I used to have eyes and ears everywhere. With him gone, I have nothing." Y/n tells him. Jefferson got closer to her face. "Why do you want it?" He asked. "I need a ride home." She answered. "I thought you didn't like it back there." He said. Y/n shrugged again. "I didn't at first. But it's my home. And it's the place where ill get my boyfriend back." She tells him. Jefferson took a step back. He slowly removed his hand from her throat. "The hat's broken. It doesn't work anymore." He tells her. "That's because you don't believe. I can make it work." She replies. Jefferson shook his head. "No, no. I mean, it's broken. It's gone." He tells her. "What?" Y/n said. Jefferson just looked at her. Y/n groaned. "Shoot." Y/n cursed under her breath. She glanced up at the mad hatter. "You should get better at this. The whole poisoning thing." She tells him. He frowns at her. "What?" He said. Y/n starts to make her way out of the room. Jefferson walked after her. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "Wanna talk much? Alright, then talk." He orders. Y/n rolls her eyes. She is her arm out of his grip. "The way you watched me. You were obviously waiting for me to drink first. You grabbed your cup after you handed me mine. It was extremely obvious that you were trying to poison me." She tells him. He glared at her. "I wasn't that obvious." He replies. "You took a stranger into your house. Someone you seemed very uncomfortable with hours ago. You were being a very good host. Taking off my jacket, bringing me tea. Then you watched me rather closely. Waiting for me to take the first sip." Y/n said. The mad hatter glanced down at his feet. "You gotta do a lot better if you want to drug someone." She added. Jefferson folded his arms over his chest. "I've succeeded once. I could do it again." He spoke up. "The saviour? She was an easy catch. You got lucky." Y/n tells him. Jefferson grabbed her wrist again. He pulled her closer, holding her by her arms. "You're starting to get on my nerves." He informs her. Y/n shrugged. "It's what I do." She smirked.
He squeezed her arms in his grip. "Pan taught you that, didn't he?" He asked her. "No, he didn't. It's a talent." Y/n replies. "Yeah, well, it's not a great one." He tells her. Y/n couldn't help but catch a glimpse of his lips. Jefferson noticed her glance. "Who's the one looking now, huh?" He smirked at her. Y/n shrugged in response. "What are you looking at?" Pan asked her. Y/n blushed a little and hides underneath the covers. "It's nothing." She giggles. Pan chuckled and crawls underneath her blanket with her. "No, what is it?" He asked her. Y/n hides her face in her hands. "It's nothing." She laughs. Pan removed her hands from her face. He smiled at her. "Come on, Darling, tell me." He tells her. Y/n sighs and looks into his eyes. "I was just admiring you. Your eyes. Your lips." The girl blushed. Pan smiled at her. "See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" He questioned. She blushed and shook her head. She looked so innocent. "You're adorable, my love." He tells her. Y/n couldn't stop blushing. She puts her hands on his cheeks. "You're not so bad yourself." She tells him. Y/n quickly snapped back to reality. "What were you thinking about?" Jefferson asked her. Y/n smiled at him. "None of your business." She tells him. She frees herself from his grip. She turns around to walk out of the room. "Your boyfriend?" Jefferson called after her. Y/n stopped walking. She glanced up at the door. "He was." She spoke.
