Chapter 33 (broken pieces)

Luke leaned back to look down at her.

"what was that lass?"

He watched as her eyes went wide and her body tensed beneath him. Her eyes darted back in forth from him to the door. He knew if he wasnt physically on top of her right now she would run. He sighed getting ready to move off of her until she wrapped her arms around him forcing him to look down at her again.

"I love you" she said squeezing her eyes shut.

"and I love you" he replied easily kissing her forehead.

She let out a half sigh half whimper. Her arms tightening around him involuntarily.

"I'm not going anywhere love. I have everything I want right here."

" what if you change your mind? Every one always changes their mind. Im never good enough. They only want me because I'm there because I'm easy access."

Her rambling reeled him back.

"Alex what are you talking about? Who is they? I thought you've only been with that one guy... Um...lee" he said snapping his fingers when he remembered his name.

Alex sighed and looked away from him.

" lee Is the only person I've been with. But he destroyed me luke. After we broke up I was still in love with him I was hurt and sad and depressed I started to cut myself." luke rolled off of her pulling her body close to his side and motioned for her to continue as he ran his fingers over her scars.

She took a deep breath and continued.

"I would wear my jacket even in the blazing heat and when I forgot I'd slap a bandaid over them saying I got scratched by a cat. Since Luke always joked I wasn't one with nature he believed it easily. We tried staying friends but I realized he just wanted me for sex. He would get drunk and then call me. We slept together for over a year before I finally put a stop to it. He was killing me from the inside out and I couldn't take it anymore. I just wanted us to be friends but I knew a part of me would always hate him for making me so weak and vulnerable. I know he regrets what he did but some times sorry isn't good enough. He made me feel like a slut. He made me feel like no one would ever want me unless I was a last choice... Unless I was the only one available." she finished blinking her eyes rabidly. Refusing to let the tears fall. His heart broke at the sight in front of him. For once she had completely let him in. And what he seen was a Hurt vulnerable broken girl that was relying on him not to step on the pieces that were already broken.

"Alex" he said softly turning her to face him.

"lee was a coward and an idiot to let you go. And one day he is going to wake up and realize that. And when he does you are already going to be moved on and happy. And when he comes to you begging you back pleading for another chance I want you to smile in his face and tell him you are so much better than him and then flash you engagement ring and or wedding band depending on how long it takes the dumbass" he said fiercely. Then He seen the panic in her eyes.

"please tell me that wasn't you proposing"

"no!" he laughed and hugged her closer.

"I just got you to admit you love me bunny. I won't be scaring you away that quickly"

"bunny?" she said wrinkling her nose.

"you're like a bunny. You let me look at your beauty and gracefulness even stroke you for a moment but any sudden movements you're gone."

"ugh come on enough with the emotions and weird pet names. How about round 2" -----------------------------------------A/N hey guys! Sorry not a lot happened in this chapter but I wanted a little more back ground on her and lee and why she's so guarded. I hope you all enjoyed it despite the crappyness lol.
