"bloody hell collin dont do that" Luke growled.

Alex's body sagged in relief as she heard Collins familiar laughter.

"what are you two doing skulking off in a dark corner anyway?"

Alex grinned and looked at Luke. He nodded his approval.

"I'm engaged!" she squealed flashing the ring to Collin.

"finally" he murmured with a grin.

"where's Kate?"

"she's in a cab out front. That's why I came looking for you two. If we don't leave now we're gonna miss the open mic night Alex wanted to go to"

"oh yea!" Alex said her stomach twisting in the all to familiar way.

"I'll just go say goodbye to Jordan"

"you better hurry lass they were getting ready to leave"

"I'll meet you in the cab love"

Alex gave Luke a quick kiss and hurried into the reception hall. She rushed over to Jordan pretty much exploding with happiness.

"look what I got" Alex said in a sing song whisper. When Jordan turned Alex flashed her ring with a huge grin. The response she got was far from the one she expected.

"you got engaged at my wedding?"

"well not technically it was down the hall"

"you got engaged at my wedding in a dark hallway. Hmmm that's romantic" she said sarcastically.

"what's your problem" Alex snapped

"sorry I just thought this one day could be about me and not about your little illegal fling"

"keep your voice down" Alex hissed

"and I don't consider it a fling if we just got engaged"

"yea in a hallway mmmm he's a keeper"

Alex reeled back as if Jordan had hit her.

"what is up your ass?!"

"for the past couple months it's been all about you and Luke And frankly I'm tired of it"

"I swear If you don't lower your voice there's gonna be blood on that pretty white dress"

"see!" Jordan yelled throwing her hands in the air.

"even now all you care about is yourself and him"

"are you kidding me right now?"

"I know he could go to jail, you could get kicked outta school, he could get fired. Blah blah blah I just don't have time for the drama anymore"

Alex narrowed her eyes at her so called best friend.

"you're really beginning to piss me off"

Jordan shrugged one slim shoulder.

"shit happens"

Alex laughed out loud and gave Jordan a sinister smile as she stepped closer.

"you know one of my secrets" she whispered.

"ONE. I know plenty of yours. The one secret you know could mess up my life pretty bad. But once it's out it would be over... If I find out you told anyone I have enough secrets of yours to let out one a day for the rest of your life.. Do not test me"

Jordan had the brain enough to look scared before she glared at Alex.

"you don't scare me"

Alex sent her a chilling smile.

"I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. You cross me and I'll give you a reason to be scared" Alex watched Jordan pale as she walked away. She spotted max by the door and gave him a sympathetic pat as she walked out.

"good luck buddy"
