Chapter 50------------------------------------------------------------------------"what? Marry you?! What?" Alex said almost jumping from the bed.
"Alex calm down love. It was just a question."
"Just a question?! You just proposed to me!"
"no... Well kinda. But it was more of a would you consider marrying me."
"Luke we've known each other for four months. Not near long enough to base a marriage off of"
"Do you love me?"
"well yes but-"
"and I love you" he interrupted.
"and I love your sister and I love your crazy dog and your cozy little house. And the way your eyes shine when you laugh. The way your brow furrows when you're confused. The determined look on your face when you set your mind to something."
"it's easy to love all the good things Luke"
"I love that you're stubborn! I love you're face when you're angry. I love your mean smartass sarcastic comments. Alex I love everything about you." he finished capturing her face in his hands.
"It will fade. I'm telling you in won't last."
"you still don't trust me." he sighed letting his hands fall away.
"I'm trying Luke I really am. It's getting better if that helps?"
"Alex you just let me make love to you. You let me sleep in your bed. I just saved you and your sister from possibly dying less than a week ago but you can't trust me?" all the things he said should've been in an angry tone but they weren't. They were just.... Sad.
"Luke..... I- I wish I could and I do! I trust you with my life I swear I do. My heart... That's another story. I'm just scared."
"and you think I'm not? Alex I just pretty much proposed to my nineteen year old student"
Alex ducked her head.
"you said it wasn't a proposal."
Luke ran his hand through his hair.
"it wasn't" he sighed.
"when I do propose it will be special."
"if" Alex corrected.
"no. No ifs. I love you and that's not going to change."
'we will see' Alex thought.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"what If I stay here?"
"why would you? There's nothing here."
"you're here"
"and?"
"and I don't want to leave you."
"you don't know me."
"I know enough"
"not near enough"
Alex heard bits of the conversation as she walked past Kate's room on the way back from the kitchen. What she heard broke her heart. Her little sister sounded just like her. And Collin just like Luke. They both had two amazing guys at their fingertips and they kept pushing them away because they were scared. Luke had pretty much proposed and Collin was willing to move across the world just to be with Kate. It's time to make a change.
"yes" Alex said as she walked back into the bedroom.
"hmm?" Luke asked. He was laid back on the bed his hands folded comfortably behind his head. The moonlight gleaming from the window landing on his sculpted bare chest.
Alex sat on the bed next to him and leaned down to brush a kiss across his chest.
"yes... I would consider... Marrying you... One day."
Luke's face broke into a smile as he pulled her down to him and captured her lips.
"one day huh?"
"mmmhmm one day. I mean I haven't even met your parents yet" she joked.
"well I was actually thinking about that."
"oh no Luke I was joking"
"I'm not" he grinned.
"got any plans for spring break?"
"nooo?" she replied cautiously.
"well you do now. You, Kate, Collin and I Are going to Ireland"
