Chapter 46

Chapter46----------------------------Alex and Kate both agreed not to tell Luke or Collin about their fathers threats. It would only rile them up and they wanted to enjoy what was left of their Christmas vacation. It was now Christmas eve and alex and Kate were getting some last minuet shopping done.

"should I get Collin something? Or is that to weird?" Kate asked looking through some of the men's shirts on the rack.

"you've been around each other 24/7 since we've been back. You haven't talked about If you were seeing each other or not?"

"no I didn't want to be awkward!"

Alex laughed and rolled her eyes.

" just get him something in case he does get you something."

Kate nodded in agreement.

" what are you getting Luke?"

Alex made a noise of irritation in the back of her throat.

"ugh! I don't know. I have no clue what to get him."

"what does he like?"

"everything Irish of course. He loves baseball and movies. I just don't know though."

"I'm sure you'll find something. I'm gonna head to PAC-sun to see If I can find anything for Collin. Meet you in the food court?"

"sure."

The girls went their separate ways as Alex tried to control herself from pulling her hair out. She was so stressed on this stupid present.

So she decided to shop for Kate for a while to take her mind off of it.

She wondered into hottopic and settled on a few pair of skinny jeans and some new Gages she knew her sister would love. After walking out she spotted a cart in the middle isle selling leather jackets. Just thinking of her sexy Irish boyfriend in one of those was enough to make her mouth water. She quickly purchased one in his size and happily made her way to the food court. A moment of panic coursed through her when she didn't immiedently spot Kate. She jerked her phone out of her purse and punched in Kate's cell number with shaking hands. The phone clicked on and as Alex opened her mouth to talk something stopped her.

"Let me go! Get your hands off me!"

"Kate?! Kate!" Alex yelled into the phone.

She heard what seemed to be a struggle and her little sisters scream.

"ALEX!"

"KATELYN!"

And then the connection was cut.

Alex couldn't breath. She felt nauseous and on the verge of passing out. Everything seemed to spin and become out of focus. Her arms and legs felt like lead when she started pushing through the mall crowd to get to the front entrance. She pushed through the double doors and quickly ran to her car.

Slamming her iPhone into the built In blue tooth device in her car she screamed "call Luke!" as she peeled out of the parking lot.

"hello love"

"he took her!" Alex managed to sob out.

" what? Alex what's wrong? Who took who?"

"my dad... He- he took Kate."

"what?! Why?! Collin!" she heard him yell at a distance.

" he called her last week and threatened to come and get her or send someone else to."

"why did you not tell me this?"

" I didn't think he would! Not when I have evidence of him assaulting me."

" where are you now?"

" I'm going to the airport. There's only one place they can take her and that's to him."

" Alex you need to go to the police"

"screw the police! I don't have time! You don't understand what he's capable of I'm not there to protect her!" she screamed into the phone.

"Alex!" Luke barked.

" calm down baby Kate needs you to be calm and rational. How long is the flight to Texas?"

"maybe an hour?"

"I'll meet you at the airport"

" what? No. It's christmas plus if the cops get involved then how will we explain you Being there?"

Alex heard curses and a struggle for the phone. A moment of panic washed over her until she heard collins smooth accent fill the line.

"Alex love, I appriciate you trying to protect me cousin I really do lass. But I think a might have fallen in love with your sister a wee bit so you won't be keeping us from coming with you. We'll meet you at the plane. Bye for now lass."

The line clicked off and Alex didn't even have to energy to argue. All her body and brain was focused on was getting her little sister back. She pressed the pedal further to the floor and got a brief moment of satasfaction when her beast of a vehicle growled and lurched forward at an illegal speed.

She pulled her car into the valle~ lane and jerked out the keys throwing them to the young boy in uniform.

"park it wherever"

"yes ma'am"

She quickly charged a ticket to her credit card and made her way toward the loading dock.

"Alex!"

She turned around and felt a little worry lift off her chest at the sight of Luke and Collin rushing toward her. They hadn't even taking to time to pack bags but just rushed over. Without thinking she enveloped them both in a long hug.

"thank you" she whispered as she pulled back to wipe her eyes.

The both nodded and helped her onto the plane. As they took their seats Alex continued to drum her fingers on the arm rest impaitently. After about ten minuets Luke growled and grabbed her hand lacing his fingers with hers.

"sorry" Alex whispered.

He didn't respond just raised her knuckles to his mouth for a kiss.

"everything will be alright lass" Collin said. Alex looked his way to see him staring off into the front of the plane. His vision unfocused. Alex wondered who he was trying to convince. Her? Or himself?
