Chapter 37

Chapter 37-------------------------------

"I can't believe you're dating a teacher!" Kate whisper yelled at Alex

"shut up!" Alex hissed looking around making sure no one heard.

"and a hot one!"

"shush!"

"have you had sex?"

"Kate!" alex yelled then winced looking toward the front of the class

"is there a problem Ms. Rogers?" asked Luke raising a questioning eyebrow.

"no sorry L- um Mr. O'Grady"

"please keep it down ladies"

Alex nodded and turned back toward Kate.

"does he ask you to keep it down in the bedroom too?"

"oh sweet baby Jesus" Alex groaned putting her head down--------------------------- Alex shot out of the class room before Her and Luke could talk. She made her way to the cafeteria while dragging Kate along by her arm.

Kate flopped into the first seat that was secluded enough for them to talk.

"tell me everything!" she practically squealed.

Alex couldn't help but smile at her as she recited her and Luke's relationship.

"that's so crazy. But sweet" Kate smiled.

"but no one can know!" Alex said quickly while Kate nodded.

"but enough about me we have to call mom and dad"

"ehhhh" Kate whined laying her head on the table.

" how many times have they tried calling you?"

"around 20" Kate said looking up with a sheepish smile.

Alex sighed taking out her phone and dialing their parents home phone.

"Alexandria?! Have you seen your sister?!" her mothers frantic voice came on the line. Alex cringed at the use of her full name. Her mother would never call her Alex since it was a 'masculine' name.

"yes mom Kate's here with me"

"Oh thank God! Let me speak to her!" came the voice again this time edged with anger and annoyance. Alex looked over to see Kate nibbling her bottom lip nervously and running her fingers over her camoflauged scars.

"um no mom I'm gonna keep her here with me for a while. And you two can talk when you're both cooled off. Tell daddy I love him and love you. Bye!" she said it all rather quickly then flipped the phone shut with Kate staring at her with wide eyes and a gaping mouth.

"you're gonna let me stay?" she asked her eyes filling up.

"of course Kate. I told you I'm always here if you need me. Plus it's really not that far till winter break."

"thank you Alex! Thank you thank you thank you!" she yelled coming across the table tackling Alex in a hug.

"any time little one now come on let's get some food and go home"

"agreed" Kate laughed----------------------------------- on the way home Alex had talked to Jordan and they had worked everything out. They were back to being best friends. But she was going to visit max this weekend so they would hang out soon. Kate was in the passenger seat with her ear buds in and her foot tapping to a beat only she could hear. Alex took the opportunity to call Luke.

"hello beautiful"

"hi" she said with a smile.

"you left before we could talk today"

"yea I had to straighten Kate out" she said jokingly.

"well I can't see you until tomorrow I have to pick something up that's come in from back home."

"oooooh a package" Alex added mysteriously.

Luke laughed.

"so you and your sister can spend some time together."

"that actually sounds great. But I can't wait to see you tomorrow" Alex clamped her teeth together as soon as that came out. Was that her?! Was that Whitney disgustingly clingy voice her?!

"I know the feeling. I miss you already lass"

Alex felt her jaw relax into a grin. Maybe she wasn't so bad.

"we're pulling up at home. Talk to you tomorrow?"

"counting the hours love"

She giggled.

"love you" she said quickly still wincing and experiencing a moment of panic he wouldn't say it back.
