Chapter 54------------------------------------------------------------------------

"oh my gosh I can't move" Alex moaned as she pushed away from the table.

Luke's mom had made them all a huge supper which consisted of huge steaks,fried potatoes, fried sausages, green beans and of course a pitcher of beer.

"how'd you like your supper lass?" asked Tom looking intently at Alex.

"it was fantastic! I don't think I'll eat for another month"

"on no dearie we eat like this every meal! You better get ready for breakfast tomorrow" said Jen coming around the corner and ruffling Collin and Luke's hair affectionately.

Tom laughed aloud at Alex and Kate's wide eyes.

"join me for a walk love?" Luke asked.

"yes I need to walk this off."

"hurry back you two it's getting dark fast"

"yes mum"

Luke and Alex made their way out side and down the little gravel path close to the cottage like house.

"I really like your mom and dad"

"they really like you too lass. I think mum is fascinated with Kate. She looks a lot like my sister when she was young"

"oh yea the woman at the bar with you that night! Is she here?"

"no she lives in the next county over. She should be coming down sometime in the week"

"good I'd like to meet her"

"I'm so glad you're here with me Alex" Luke said softly as he threaded his fingers through hers.

"it feels so nice to be able to hold your hand without worrying who sees"

"two more months love"

"then I'm parading you down main street holding your hand"

"sounds perfect" he murmured kissing her forehead.

"are we gonna tell your parents how we met?"

"you mean you ran into me then slapped my arm till you fell over?"

"no. You know what I mean" Alex said narrowing her eyes at him.

"ah mum will be asking soon. And there's no hiding it from her."

"are you nervous?"

"aye a wee bit"

"I think they'll understand"

"we shall see lass"
