Chapter 53------------------------------------------------------------------------

The months flew by. Kate and Collin got impossibly closer. They made their relationship 'Facebook official' which Alex rolled her eyes at. January was filled with laughter and love. Alex was trusting Luke more with each day. They spent as much time together as possible. It was still hard to see each other at school and hide their feelings but they managed. Jordan and max had announced their engagement which Alex though was crazy but Kate loved the idea of their 'whirlwind' romance. As february came and valentines day had approached Alex had gotten depressed. Valentines day had been her and Lee's anniversary. She assured Luke it had nothing to do with him she just didn't want anything to do with that day. Luke had begged to do something extravagant and romantic to help her make new memories of the day but she refused. And when the sun came up on February 14th Alex woke up in the arms of a man she loved. When she

Turned to face him he smiled and kissed her gently and for the first time in two years she was happy on valentines day without regret. But now it was march eleventh and the last day of college until spring break.

"I hope you all have a marvelous week!" luke exclaimed excitedly as he dismissed the class.

All the students gathered their stuff quickly and made a race to get out of the door as quickly as possible. Alex hung back pretending to have a hard time with her bag until it was just her and Luke. He locked the door and looked over at her with a wicked grin.

"are you excited lass?"

"I am. I can tell you definately are"

"that I am. I feel like its been years since I've seen me mum"

"how long has it been?"

"since august maybe?"

"That's seven months. It's still a long time"

"I guess you could say I'm a wee bit of a mums boy"

"I still find you adorable." she said smiling as her wrapped his Arms around her tiny waist.

"I'm glad you'll be going with me lass. I think I'd miss you terribly for a week"

"I think you'd live."

"mmm doubtful." he murmured brushing his lips against hers.

Alex wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him in return. He nipped her bottom lip playfully asking for entrance. Alex eagerly opened for him and sighed as their tongues battled. Luke moaned and threaded his fingers through her hair as he backed her closer to a wall. A sharp knock on the door had them both springing apart. They were both breathing heavily as they stared at the door.

"Luke? It's me. Open up boyo" came an older Irish accent from behind the door.

"my uncle" Luke whispered.

"get under my desk"

Alex hurried and folded her self under Luke's desk until she was sure no part of her was visible.

"sorry uncle jerry I was just cleaning up to leave"

"Aye, I figured as much I just wanted to catch you before you headed out."

"you were just in time."

"tell my sister I miss her and that I apologize for not coming home for Christmas. I also apologize for not joining you and Collin on the holiday as well."

"it's fine uncle we both know you're a busy man"

"aye, but any how give your mum and da my love"

"I will"

Alex hear what she assumed was one of those man embraces and the door close but she was still afraid to move.

"he's gone love"

Alex climbed out from under the desk.

"ugh Im getting to old for all of this."

"can you imagine this week? No hiding, no running just us being in love?"

"you're such a girl" Alex mused

Luke grinned and poked her in the ribs. She snickered and leaned her head on him. He smoothed her head back and tenderly kissed her forehead.

"I love you lass."

"I love you too.....boyo"

"you little...."

"I swear you filled this suitcase with bricks lass" Alex heard Collin say to Kate.

"I told you I'd carry it"

"nonsense love"

Alex smiled over at them two then glanced at Luke.

His green eyes were dancing with excitement as they made their way out of the airport in Dublin Ireland.

Alex pulled her jacket closer as the chill of the air hit her. Luke and Collin both stopped to breath it in.

"it's so... Green" Kate sighed.

"it's beautiful" Alex agreed

Luke smiled over at her.

"Lucas Marshall O'Grady! It's about time! We've been waiting all morning we have!"

Alex turned toward the feminine voice with the thick Irish accent and seen a small round woman waving frantically at the group. Next to her was a tall gray haired man with a kind face and a sweet smile.

"mum, da its so good to see you" Luke said running over To lift the woman in a bear hug.

"aunt Jen! Uncle Tom!" Collin exclaimed and rushed over to embrace the couple as well.

Alex and Kate smiled over at each other as they watched the family reminisce.

"and who are these two lovelies? Ye lads can't be leaving your women on the curb like that someone will go swooping them up as good looking as they are" said Tom with a wink.

'yup a family of charmers' Alex thought with a smile.

"I'm Alex. This is my little sister Kate. It's a pleasure to meet you both"

"ah what nice manners this one has! Finally my Lucas made a good choice." Jen said smiling fondly at her son.

"mum" Luke said dragging the word out.

"I go by Luke."

"well that's not what I named you now is it?"

Luke grumbled and gave Alex a sheepish smile.

"and something tells me your mum didn't name you Alex dearie"

Alex smiled.

"Alexandria"

"katelyn" Kate admitted.

"well no offense to your mum and da but I think your nicknames suit you just fine"

"thank you" they both said with a laugh.

"can we go home now darlin? It's probably a wee bit chilly to the lassies"

"oh yes yes my apologies lets go home"
