Chapter 38

Chapter 38-------------------------------

"Id tap that"

"Kate!" Alex said giggling. They were watching Harry Potter and the sorceress stone. Alex hated Harry Potter movies but kate loved them. She though Daniel ratcliff was 'hot'.

"well I would. Ms teacher molester."

"I'm not a teacher molester you pervert"

"sure sure"

They were in the floor surrounded by mounds of blankets and pillows. Their meal of choice for the night was Chinese and a tub of ben and Jerry's finest.

"ugh I'm so full" Kate said rolling over rubbing her stomach.

"Me too. That last bit of sweet and sour chicken finished me off"

"Do you ever see Lee?"

That familiar pang hit her chest at the mention of his name. But it was surprisingly less hurtful.

"I've seen him a few times. But I don't want to see him"

"think it'll ever be ok?"

" as much as I used to want it... I can't see us being friends again. The feelings were to strong... To raw. Luke is helping me. It sounds weird and cheesy but he's healing me"

Kate gave her a soft smile.

"I wish someone could heal me."

"you're stronger than me Kate. You don't need someone else you're amazing on your own."

She just sighed at laid back staring at the ceiling.

Alex stared at her and chewed her bottom lip thinking.

"hey wanna do something fun?" Alex said with a mischievous smile.

"um ok?" Kate said nervously.

"come on!"------------------------------- fifteen minutes later they pulled up outside 'nelly's needles'.

"why're we at a tattoo shop?" Kate asked with barely contained excitement.

"pick out what you want it's my treat. And if anyone in here asks I'm your guardian"

She closed her hands over her ears when kate let out a high pitched squeal and jumped from the car running into the tattoo parlor.

Smiling Alex locked the car up and walked in behind her. She was eagerly flipping through the drawing hanging on the wall.

"are you gonna get anything?" Kate asked smiling.

"oh no I don't do needles."

"wuss"

"brat"

Both of the girls giggled at each other. A tall lanky guy with multiple tattoos and Gages in his ears came over to them with a welcoming smile.

"hello ladies. Can I help you?"

"she's Gonna get some art" Alex said pointing to her sister. She looked over at Kate who was practically bouncing with excitement.

"alright. Im Ross and what can I do for you?"

Kate grinned widely and whispered in his ear. He smiled and nodded.

"great choice. Im Gonna go get the needles ready and you can meet me in that back room" he said pointing.

Kate nodded and turned toward Alex.

"it's gonna be a surprise. You can't see until its done"

"ah! But I wanted to watch!"

"nope! I'll be done in a bit!" she chirped and skipped toward the back room. Alex looked through all the drawings on the wall marveling at some of the artists work. After looking through all those she sat in one of the over stuffed chairs and flipped through a book that was titled 'quotes'. It was a bunch of quotes or song lyrics beautifully tattooed in to people's skin. She seemed to like the most of the quotes. And she turned the page reading one stopped dead in her tracks. The quote tattooed on the woman's foot was beautiful and hit her square in the heart and seemed to pull at her. Without over thinking it she got up with the book and walked over to the desk in the front of the shop.

"excuse me?"

The burly man with sleeves lining both of her arms looked up with a eyebrow risen.
