Chapter 35

Chapter 35------------------------------- the rest of the class went by pretty much the same. Luke made a complete goof of himself but he was so cute he pulled it off. After school was over Alex walked the block until a shiny black jeep pulled up next to her.

"may I offer you a ride love?"

"sure" she laughed climbing in beside him. His fingers immediately intertwining with hers. She sighed to herself thinking this was the happiest she's been in a while.

"everything alright love?"

"everything is....perfect" she breathed.---------------------------------

"Oh my good lord I can't breathe" Alex yelled holding her stomach. Luke was giving her an odd look as she buried her face in his chest and shook with laughter. They were watching America's funniest home videos and a baby just got scared and jumped. Alex apparently thought it was the funniest thing in the universe.

"are you alright lass?" he chuckled

"y-yes" she said sitting up and wiping the years from her eyes. He kept staring at her and watched as she bit her lip in an attempt not to fall into the giggles again. He grinned as he poked her ribs and she fell over laughing again.

"you're adorable"

Her head popped back up and she hiccuped around another giggle.

"I'm crazy"

"that too" he smiled

As they were leaning close to kiss Alex's doorbell went off.

"ugh" said Luke falling back on the couch and covering his face with a pillow.

"it's probably just Jordan" Alex laughed swatting his legs as she made her way to the door. Alex spotted blonde hair in the window of her door do she stopped ran to her bedroom grabbing an old Halloween scream mask. She ran back and flung open to door.

"RAAAAAAA!"

"ahhh!" came a blood curling scream as the blonde backed up and tripped over her bag landing hard on her bottom.

"the hell Alex?!"

"Kate?!"

"no her evil twin" she said scowling rubbing her backside.

"what are you doing here?"

"nice to see you too sis. Our parents are idiots and kicked me out"

"mom and dad kicked you out?!"

" you're really having problems processing things today aren't you? Can I come in? I'm really tired."

"oh yea sorry" Alex said moving aside allowing her in. She stood at the door for a moment as Kate walked into the house until she remembered..........

Luke!

"Kate wait!"

"HUBBA HUBBA! Who are you?"

"crap"

Alex rounded the corner seeing Kate grinning at Luke and him looking slightly terrified. If it wasn't so awkward she would've laughed.

"um Kate this...this is my boyfriend Luke"

Luke's head snapped in her direction his eyebrows raised.

"Luke this is my sister Kate"

"um nice to meet you lass" he said nervously wiping his palms on his jeans before offering Kate his hand. She took it eagerly looking him up and down.

"you're a hottie"

"Kate really?"

"what? I call them like I see them" she said laughing.

" I'm gonna go to the guest room and unpack if that's ok" she said hitching her thumb over her shoulder and looking at her sister hopefully.

"yea Kay go unpack I'll be up in a sec"

Kate nodded and waved at luke before bounding up the stairs with her bag.

"sorry, look as far as she knows you're just my boyfriend. I'll explain everything to her later."

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist looking down at her.

"it's fine lass. I remember you mentioning your sister. But you know what this means right?"

"what?" she said eyeing him curiously.

"I get to tell one of my family members"

Alex ducked her face.

"you actually want to tell your family about me?"

"please lass" he said nuzzling her neck. " I want to pack you up take you to Ireland and parade you in front of everyone I know. Hell everyone I don't know. I want to show everyone how lucky of a guy I am to have such an amazing girl in love with me"

She sight leaning more heavily against him.

"you're lovely" she said.

He laughed and kissed her forehead.

"I'm gonna go love. Let you spend sometime with your sister"

"I'll see you tomorrow?"

"of course. I love you"

"I love you too" he gave her a small peck and headed out the door. Alex sighed and hopped up the stairs leaning on the door frame as she watched Kate unpack.

" so rebel.. What'd you do?"

Kate turned around and grinned.

"something they do not approve of"

"you're not pregnant are you" Alex said looking horrified.

Kate laughed and vigorously shook her head.

"I'm only 16 Alex! No I got a tattoo"

Alex's eyes lit up as she motioned for Kate to show her.

She grinned and pulled up her sleeve showing off her anchor tattoo with a banner wrapping around it reading 'I refuse to sink' on her wrist.

Alex stepped closer and gingerly grabbed her wrist looking it over.

"I love it"

"it hides the scars" Kate said softly.

Alex felt her eyes tear and leaned down giving a peck to one of the scars still visible.

"never again right?"

"never again" Kate agreed with a smile.

"you can stay here as long as you need sis, id love to have you here"

"thank you!" she squealed and hugged her.

"I'm gonna go to bed Kate ill talk to you tomorrow? Oh do you wanna come to school with me?"

"sure! I'd love to see it sooner"

By sooner it was just how it sounded. Kate was a genius and had finished high school early. Soon she would be off to college to show off her amazing wit. She was always the rebel of the family but Alex loved that about her. She would call and talk to their parents tomorrow but for now they m
