Chapter 12 (fiesty)

Alex slowly turned around trying to see the object of Rambos aggression. To see Lee frozen in his tracks with his hand raised palms out toward the dog.

"seriously?! What?! What do you want?!"

" ca- can you get him to c- calm down" he stuttered visibly gulping.

As if on cue Rambo let out a loud bark that ended with a threatening snap of his teeth.

"are you like stalking me now?"

"I just came by your house to talk and noticed you weren't home but your car was there. I figured you went for a walk"

Alex narrowed her eyes.

"how did you know I wasn't home? I could've been sleeping"

Lee looked away in guilt. Which caused Alex to let up on Rambos leash. Rambo took to slow steps toward him snarling.

"you left your door unlocked!" he yelped taking atleast ten steps back.

" YOU WENT IN MY HOUSE?!" she shrieked

Rambo seemed to panic at her escalated tone of voice and started pulling at the leash with his deadly sight set on lee.

"can you please get him to calm down Alex!"

" yelling at me is not going to help your situation"

"can we not just talk?"

" I don't WANT to talk to you. Either take the hint now or I'll let this leash slip and you can take it from him"

Lee sent a fearful glance in the dogs direction.

" I'll leave now..we will talk later"

"don't hold your breath"

Alex watched him walk away until he was around the corner of the next block. Only then did she allow herself to sit down and take a few calming breaths to settle her racing heart. A low whine came from her left and she glanced down just in time to see Rambo lay his furry head in her lap. The terrifying dog from five minutes ago was gone. Replaced by her loving oversized lap dog.

"have I ever told you how much I love you"

He whined again rolling on his stomach watching her from upside down.

Alex let out a strangled laugh and rubbed his belly.

" well come on we have to walk to the grocery store. Someone has earned themselves a steak for supper"
